silk tied nigh on the chest, the ends
hidden in a crush belt of the same.

seminary September 80th. at tneir

school is an institution of which

Work on the fiber factory at
pen island is progressing rapidly and
it will soon be ready to begin work.
All the schools of the c .y, public
and private, are preparing to open
tne first week in Oetoonr. From all
indications the year will be a very

The work of laying shells and Au
gusta giavel on Newcastle’ street was
resumed yesterday. The street will be
completed as tar as Morgan’s drug
store, and may later l>e carried on to
the park.
After a suspension of several days
work was resumed on the public
building yesterday, and Contractor
Bowen now hopes to work on tiie
building steady, and thinks he •
have it completed on schedule time.
The board of trade will hold their
regular weekly meeting at (he city

there will be enough of the members
present to form a quorum. The Hoard
has not had a meeting in some time
on account of the poor attendance ot
