This condition does not index that spirit of enterprise and municipal pride that should exist, and we earn estly hope that evil will be remedied without further delay, It Is to he no|>ou that council will finally determine to have the new lire heat quarters as planned by Con tractor Bowen. TEDDY’S SPEECH TO GEORGIANS. However much Teddy may flounder when he essays to dispuss the trusts or get tongue-tied on the tariff, he j Is generally in his element when he touches on the Blue and the Gray, ' Which he generally serves with a lit tle Santiago sauce. His allusion at Chattanooga Sunday, In rcsponding’to a cane presentation speech, to Gen. j Ho(*J and General Wheeler, though brief, was very apt. Standing upon a battlefield where nearly forty years ago the losses on either side were ten or twelve thousand, he could not more opigrammatieally have illustrated tho changes of time than -TTT noting the fact that he had fougnt under Gen. I Vvheeler at Santiago, and that a son i of Hood was ,n his own regiment there—both Cotffederate generals hav ing f might at Chiekamanga. The in cident was heightened in effect by be ing not far distant from the birthplace of his mother. —l/iuisville Courier- Journal. A DIGNIFIED FIGHT. The Gainesville Sun says: The jury commissioners of Otyn i county, .Ga., have stooped so low as to declare eligible for Jury duty only those who are of their ftn- tioru! pel; lea! faiit:. A greater outrage wit.- never perietra tod. When sw >rn officer-'- of the law will tamper with U'< jury to further their political aims an 1 persecute their opponents, it is tint? to call a halt. The Brunswick Ne va is making a manly and dignified fight for justice in this case and will succeed ore long in forcing the commissioners tu reiin finish such tactics. THE SAME OLD WAY. The Americus Times-Reeorder has an interesting editorial that may or may not be fair; though, according to all published reports, it is. The Re oorder aays: The press dispatches a few weeks ago contained the shocking details of a tragedy enacted In New Haven. Conn., wherein a beautiful young girl in the hush and prime of a happy life, killed herself In Ihi presence of a young Atlantlan who. tiring of her longer, had east her aside as a toy no further desired. The Journal yesterday gave great promi nence to the home-coming of the “hero” of the New Haven tragedy, whose arrival in his automobile “crea ted a sensation there." It was just such a "sensation” as Atlanta laves, and the automobile of the rich young lake, still red wait tne blood of his poor dead and forgotten dupe who sacrificed life and honor for him, will now transport parties of Peachtree belles in the sunsn.no (?) of whose presence he will bask an ideal darl ing. Such is the decree of the god. Mammon, the deity nt whose slirii Atlanta bends the knee. Even the people of Florida are sympathising with the citizens of Glynn county, in ,jc matter of that jury revision. Tomorrow's News will consist nl twenty pages and about four tuous and copies ol the edition will be print ed. Can you afford to lie left out of this paper? The names of those taken i nmt, ~.c grand jury box and the names of those a dik'd, it is dirty politics. See to morrow's News. MISS ROSE OWENS, No. 720 Seventeenth St., WASHINGTON, D. C. “If every suffering woman has the same experience with Wine of Cardui that I had, your medicine will be most popular. About a year ago I began to have a worn out tired feeling with lassitude, pains in the back and head which kept increasing every month. 1 felt that I needed something, but to get the right medicine was the trou ble. I finally decided on your Wine of Cardui and only needed to take three bottles when I was fully re covered.” WHEN Miss Rose Owens, who has a responsible position in the Government service at Washington, D. C., decided to try Wine of Cardui, she made a wise choice. Over a million women have been relieved of female weakness by this same Wine of Cardui. It is not a strong medicine but may be taken every day in' the year by any woman with benefit, ft does not force results, but corrects derangements of the menstrual organs. It strengthens the nervous system, gives tone to the liodily func tions, acts directly on the genital organs, and is the finest tonic for wo men known to the science of medicine. Miss Owens was cured without advice by just buying a SI.OO bottle of Wine of Cardui from her druggist and taking this great medicine in the pri vacy of her home. No doctor’s ex amination, treatment or advice is nec essary. You have read what these two cured women have written. Is this not enough to lead you to determine to be rid of suffering? August 13, 1900, Mrs. W. H. Jones, of Cameron, Mo., writes: “I suffered terribly at monthly periods for three year*. I would sometimes go for seven months with no flow at all. Now I have my health back again and am expecting to be confined in January.
