Emory Bpeer has designated the Brunswick Daily New* at the official organ of the United States Court, In bankruptcy proceedings, for Glynn county. PUBLISHERS NOTICE. The News Publishing Company de sires It to be distinctly understood that ail leg*! advertisement a must he paid for in advance. We cannot afford to devote our Bpfcce to such advertise ments and wait cm the courts for the money. , Or*ni morning, Aledrman Smith. ~ Unuißwick was wet in all kinds of ways Sun.lay—but then. Senator Depew says the trusts arc good things. Who would exeprt tills particular senator to say anything else? It is now Oovemor Terrell in fact and the state of Georgia may expect a clean, honorable and able adminis tration. The Commoner insists with each issue that W. J. llryan is not a candi date for the presidency. The country knows that hotter than the Common er Itself. Y J. T*. Morgan has made forty two mill km dollars this year. If he con tinues to make as much each year and lives to a ripe old age, he will have all the money in the United States. Lady Somerset, the great temper ance worker of Knglatid, said at Port land the other day that drunkenness was on the incroaeo In England and that It was making a decided growth among the women. Incidentally she made the statement that she under stood that women were drinking more than formerly in this country. The Atlanta Journal says: "It is understood that the lion. Lee Rainey, of Terrell, changed his miml about introducing a bill to prevent the drinking of spirituous or malt, liquors ivn tre capttol premises. It is further from the capital to the Kimball House than he thought it was." The old veterans arc to gather in, Columbus today in general reunion. We wish the old follows a jol'y time of It. They are rapidly pm sine into the great beyond, and their noble ser vice in the past mtpteH them to the greatest .consideration at the hands ol our people. MUST HAVE A REMEDY. The serums damage to the mer chants in the vicinity of what wo can now call "our flooded district" calls for some prompt action h.v the mayor ami board of aldermen, as this sort of thing is liable to occur any day. The News is not an engineering jour nal and ha oplnicti as to a remedy would carry no weigut but wo do know' that there is some remedy and the matter should have immediate at tention. If we have no engineer in Bruns wick who is aide to remedy- the trou ble it behooves us to get one and lose no time in the getting. Our business houses and our homes are not safe at present and no mat ter what the cost may be we must bav e the matter attended to. CITY FINANCES STATEMENT OF GEORGE H.
