real property, shall notify the clerk
of council in writing, of the fact of
such transfer, before the first day oi
April, following such transfer, and in
case transfers of real property shall
nat be so notified to the clerk, then
the same may be taxed as the prop
erty of the person last returning same
and shall he subject in like manner as

Miss Mamie Symons!’ school enjoyed
a pleasant picnic Saturday out in the
woods in tire southern part of the city.
The children spent a happy day
playing games' and the basket dinner
spread under the trees was one of the
delightful features.
Little Miss Nellie Atkins en
tertained her little guests' with a
tacky party Saturday afternoon. A
number of little people were present,
arranged in all sorts of odd a.nd orig
inal costumes. The prize for the best
costume was awarded to little Eliza
fly Dimes.

The entertainment to be given this
evening at the opera house will he
one of the prettiest and most unique
of the season. Tickets are on sale
at Fleming & Waff's and with a num
ber of children. The first number on
ttie program will be the “War of
Roses," and riiis begins- promptly at
8:30, The audience is requested to
lie in their seats promptly at that
hour, as th curtain will go up exactly
on the minute. Every effort will be
made to make the opera house com
fortable. Fans and lemonade will be
served to the audience, and no one
need stay away on account of the
warm weather.
