’ AN HONEST SKEPTIC.
And Where He Landed.
An honest skeptic will learn things
that a prejudiced and ignorant person
misses. There have been many skep
lics of the great rebuilding value of
Grape-Nuts simply because they did
not understand the scientific princi
ples upon which it Is based.
A Cincinnati man prepared to die
and then got well and strong in spite !
of his convictions. He says; "I have
always regarded your food as only an
other catch penny to fool the people
but 1 am now forced through simple
justice to admit that it is all you
claim.
“I suffered for years from indi
geston and had Set my house in or
der' to die. Then I took up the study
of the alimentary table, bought a set
of chemical devices lo analyze the dif
ferent foods and set to work to Intel
ligently study the food question.”
I selected and ate those vegetables
and meats in which I found the tnosi.
nutriment and which wore supposed to
lie the most easily digested but 1 con
tinued to waste away and my stomach
grew to la* a verlalablc hell; sour si-ai
ding eruptions came, up in rny mouth
taking breath away for such a long
while that 1 thought many timos my
end had come. I would fail in a
faint and lemain unconscious tor some
time ami when revived would iind
great dark spots obscuring my vision
•i> such an extent that it seemed to be
almost night m my room.
"My stomach became so weak that
Ii ould not even digest well boiled rice
-While lying in bed badly discoura
ged and more willing to die than live,
a voice seemed to come to me and say
•'Why dout you give up your prejudice
and try Grape-Nuis.’ i thought about
ii. every little while during the day
and late in the evening sent out for
some and ale a little, expecting ii
would hurt me and cause ail the ter
rible I rouble over again, but an hour
passed and everything was right so 1
look another liltie lima! and waited,
i tell heller and the old sick feeling
quit, so about y o'clock 1 took a pret
ty good meal of Grape-Nuts and went
to bed feeling good. 1 laid awake for
some time tearing my poor, weak and
scalded stomach would suiter but
strange to say I dropped off lo sleep
and slept sound and peaeetul aim en
joyed the most glorious night's icst
l bad for several years.
"1 go heavy on Grape Nuts now and
i have gained 10 pounds in tue la-t

sleep, no sour eruptions of tho stom
ach uo dark. Jiliinl spots and my uer
