[ 722 Charles street, Riverside, was run ;

morning and received injuries from
which) he died a few hours later.
“Stubhs, who was employed as a seal
clerk, stepped under a freight car
to adjust an air break hose, when an
engine hacked against the ears and
Stub Ins, whose foot had become caught
in a frog in some manner, was unable
to get out of the way and was run
ofer.
“The right limb was mashed off just
above the knee, and the heel of the
left leg wis run over.
“Persons who witnessed the accident
ran to thie aid of the unforunate
young man, and he was removed to
the freight office, where Dr. Hardy
Pittman was called and rendered tern
liorary medical attention, after which
the young man was removed to his
home in an ambulance.
“Despite the fact that everything
known to medical science was done
to save the young man, lie grew worse
rapidly and died at 1:30 o'clock.
“Young Stubhs is well known and has
a large circle of friends who sympa
thize deeply willi his parent-, who
are deeply grieved over Hie unfortu
nate accident.“
