Section 2. Be it further ordained
by the authority aforesaid. That all or
dinnnoes and parts of ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance be and
the same are hereby repealed.
The following ordinance was read
the second and third time, amended’
passed and adopted, as follows:
An ordinance to prevent the enter
ing. or running at large of cattle, hogs,
sheep, goats or any other stock, and
fowls of any kind or character in Oak
Grove cemetery, Palmetto cemetery,
Greenwood comet eery and Hanover
Park.
Section 1. Be it ordained by the
mayor and council of the city of Bruus
wiek, and it is hereby ordained by
authority of the same, That from and
after the passage of this ordinance it
shall be unlawful for any cattle, bogs,
sheep, goats or any stock, and fowls
of any character to be at large In
Oak Grove cemetery. Palmetto ceme
tery. Greenwood cemetery and Han
oi or Park, in said city.
F°c. 2. Be further ordained by the
authority aforesaid. That it shall tie
the duty of the impounding officer of
said city to seize and impound each
and every animal or fowl found at
large within the limits of Oak Grove
cemetery. Palmetto cemeter, Green
wood cemetery and Hanover park,
and he shall cause such animal or
fowl to be confined in the city pound.
If such animal or fowl is not redeem
ed as provided for the redeeming of
hogs and pigs by section. 553 of the
code of said city, then it shall be the
duty of the marshal of said citye or
his deputy, to sell the same to the
highest bidder, after posting notice of
said sale at the court bouse and at
the door of the postoffice, in the man
ner prescribed for the selling of im
pounded hogs and pigs, as prescribed
in said section 553.
Section 3. Be it further ordained,
That all ordinances and parts of or
dinances in conflict herewith be, and
the same is hereby repealed.
Alderman Taylor was excused from
the meeting.
Bills and accounts properly ap
proved and audited, read and ordered
placed in eourrse of settlement.
The report of the committee with
reference to the charges against Asst.
Chief of Police R E. Owens, action
on which was deferred from last meet
ing. was taken up for consideration.
The statement of Asst. Chief
Owens was read, and a waiver of copy
notice of time and hearing the charges
am: agreeing that the mayor and alder
men should ileterminesatdcharges and
render findings upon his written state
ment and answer, was signed by Ur.
Owens.
Council took a recess of ten man
utes and on reassembling rendered
the following. Upon considering the
