June 2, 1825, and was created cardinal by Leo XIII. at the consistory of June 12, 1S!)2. re ceiving the title of S. Bemado delle Tcrme He has Just been patriarch of Venice since June, 1892, and bish op Mantua, lie belonged to the or clcsiast leal congregation of bishops and regulars, sacred rites, indulgen ces arid sacred relics.
