AFTERWARD.
’Pbere’s never a storm so wild
But after it follows a calm;
There's never a hurt so great
But somewhere’s provided a halm;
There’s never a night so dark
But after it follows the dawn.
There’s never a shadow falls
But. after It follows the light;
There’s never a sorrow comes
But after It tonnes delight.
There’s never a sky so gray
But after it follows the blue;
There’s never a false friend found
But later you’ll find a true.
There’s never a heart that breaks
But afler a while it will heal;
There’s never 3, moan of pain
But after a laughter peal.
There’s never a sin so black
But forgiveness is found at last;
There’s never a weary day
But some time ’twill he past;
There’s never a night so dark
But dawn will come at last.

HELD REGULAR MEETING.
Interesting Debate Was Feature of
New Town Society Last Night.
The New Town Society, which meets
every Monday night, has not failed to
have a quorum session since it was or
ganized, nearly eight months ago
Last night it had a most interesting
session with a novel programme, viz':
a debate on the subject of which was
not known until the opening of the
debate, being resolved “That Educa
tion Has Been More Conducive to the
Happiness of Mankind than Conquest."
Hon. Earnest Dart for the affirma
tive and C. P. Goodyear the negative.
The debate between these gentlemen
lasted for three-quarters of an hour
and another quarter of an hour was
taken by Mr Dempster for the nega
tive. The decision as to who won the
debate, was made by a vote of the
membership as a whole and was for
the negative. This program is most
desirable, as teaching people to think
on their feet without preparation, and
will be one of the features for the
future.
At the meeting on next Monday
night the debate will be on the sub
ject “Resolved, That Physical Culture
is More Essential than Mental Culture
to the Happiness of Mankind.” A
large cowd js expected to attend.

W. E. Woods, retired, residing at.
103 President St., Savannah, says; "1
cannot speak too highly of Doan’s
Kidney Pills. They acted promptly and
effectually with me upon a very had
case of lamo back from which I have
been a great sufferer for quite a while.
There was a dull heavy pain across
my loins, a never ceasing backache
day and night, but worse at night
when it keeps me awake. At times I
was totally incapacitated for exertion
of any Kind, the secretions from the
kidneys were very dark, contained a
sediment and caused me any amount
of trouble,, especially at night, when
nny rest was much disturbed. I used
any number of remedies but with no
apparent benefit until I obtained
Doan’s Kidney Pills. The results of
their use were that the backache left
me, the kidney secretions cleared up
and did not bother me. 1 could go to
bed awl rest all night, getting up in
the morning rested and I felt better
In every way.”
