Warren Howard, the energetic claim agent of the Southern railway, was in the city yesterday on a business trip Hunter Hopkins and Fred Brewer left yesterday to join the Pilots at Mdßae, where they are playing th, team of that city. Rev. J. W. Malone, Col. D, W Krauss and daughter, Miss Dorothy ieft last night for Waynesville, N. C. where they will spend some time. The rainy weather of the past week has Interfered with shipping circles generally and several forces on the wharves have been compelled to lose hours of each day. The fresh water steamer Maloy will propably arrive in port the latter part of the week with a cargo from points on the Oonmlgee and Altamaha rivers'. The steamer will return to Macon next week. iKnute Walla, the white man'who was arrested here Monday as Whitie McDonald, wanted in Savannah for kidnapping has been released by the authorities of that city, he having proved to be the wrong man. Th© steamer Thordis, which arrived Monday from Now York, is being loaded as fast as possible at the Down ing company wharf. She is taking on a cargo of naval stores for Ham burg and Rotterdam.
