DISGUSTED ’WITH HIS AIRSHIP.
A dispatch from Washington tells
us that Prof. 1.-uigloy has become dis

to give up the affair as a failure.

and otherwise damaged the machine

MR. PARKER'S EXPERIENCE
WITH A NEWS ADVERTISEMENT
“You will have to take that ad.
out or I will have to buy anothsr
horse and wagon,” said Mr. C. L. Par.
kcr, the popular grocer to a repre
sedative of the News yesterday.
Continuing Mr. Parker said: "Your
paper Is certainly read in all parts
of the city and my advertisement has
certainly proven to be a good invest
ment for me and my business has in
cronsed at a wonderful rate since the
ad. appeared and I am getting new
customers rapidly.”
The reason is plain.
The News is read by the buying
public and when they go to Mr. Par
ker they find everything just as rep
resented and prices low as they pos
sibly can be. in other words they
arc satisfied after giving him
one order that he wiii make their deal
ings with him satisfactory in every
sense of the wora.
Mr. Parker will probably buy an
other horse and delivery wagon as l.e

KODOL
Weak
Hearts
Are due to indigestion. Ninety-nine
of everyone hundred people who have

indigestion. All food taken Into the
stomach which fails of perfect diges

puffing it up against the heart. This
interferes with the action of the heart,
and in the course of time that aeiicate

-Water Before Meal*.
While' the general opinion of those I
supposed to tie authorities on this mat
ter has been that the habit .Jt drinking
water at meals is a deleterious one. It
la now stated, according to recent in
vestigations, that a little water, if
too cold, is beneficial, as il assists In
the digestion of food. A too copious
supply of water dilutes the gastric
juice, and if too cold it lowers the tem
perature of the stomach below normal.
thus impairing digestion. If. however,
water Is taken in limited quantities, tbu
peptones formed by the action of gas
trie juice on food will he washed aside,
thereby facilitating absorption. By this
means the undigested food is laid bare
and is more susceptible to further u 9
tlon of the gastric Juice. During the
period of rest phlegm, being very tena
cious, prevents the free flow of gastric
Juice for some time, hence delays di
gestion. A drink of water before meals
Is recommended because it loosens and
washes away this deposit of mucus,
thereby permitting the gastric juice to
attack the food ns it enters the stom
ach. —Boston Transcript
