where they have taken a pleasant

The Misses Gale’s semiary will re
open tomorrow folr the tenth year’s
work. This school is admirably con
ducted and has been very .successful
since its beginning. The prospects
for the coming term are very bright

The lunch and supper which was
to have been given Tuesday will he
postponed until the following Tues
day as a suitable place could not be
secured in which to have it. Those
who gave donations are requested by
those in charge to hold them for a
week longer.

Miss Maud Banks left yesterday for
her home in Savannah after spend
ing several months with Mr. and Mrs.
A. C.' Banks. Banks received
a number olf ,social attentions dur
ing her stay here and was one of the
most popular visiting girls of the
summer.
Mrs. John Foster gave a very pretty
and delightful card party Friday af
ternoon at her home on St. Simon.
The rooms were beautifully decorated
for the otocafiion with ferns and cut
flowers. The score cards were hand
painted by the hostess and were ex
tremely pretty and artistic. Euchre
was played and the first prize, a
lovely form, was won by Mrs. Me-
Cloy; the second, a vase, by Mrs.
Dudley; the consolation, a burntwood
matehsiafa, by Mrs. Meldrim. Those
present were: Mesdames McCloy,
Nash. Shadman, Dudley,. Freeman.
Stewart, Gould, Winn, John Hay, Bil
lingslea, Meldrim Hiailwood Dudley,
Misses Gould, Hotch, Mitchelson,
Williams, Fox, Russell, Postell, Lula
