KThe costumes ar* from designs by
the famous artist, Archie Gunn, and
said to be of striking novelty. The
scenery is by Physioc, and is a tine ex
ample of that clever artist’s best style.
The company has been carefully se
lected and rehearsed under the per
sonal direction of fho authors, and is
made up of some of the best and most
.favorably known comedians and come
diennes known to the musical stage.
Way Down East.
“Way Down East" is the attract ion
at the Grand Tuesday night. It, may
oil her bcicnued a sermon in a play or
play in a seimon, or cue of those rar
T hespean combinations that attracts
and pleases both.saint and sinner.
As an evidence of this t he following
letter from a well known minister
will attest:
•‘All Saints Church, Bay Side. New
York—Messrs. Brady and Grismer:
In thanking you for the privilege of
witnessing‘Way Down East’ 1 will
not attempt to particularize its many
excellencies.
“Speaking generally I congratu lat e
you for placing before the public in
such.an admirable and artist ic man
ner a play that is so free from that
which is objectionable, and at the
same time so rich in wholesome amuse
ment.
“While tlie supporting company
proves themselves to be thorough
artists, the charming and graceful
acting of-Anna'’gave the rendition
of the play a peculiar degree of
pleasure.
“Rev. George W. Kccles,’’

The elaboate production of Lord By
ron, presented by Mr. Youiug on ins
lalst southern lour with his own cum

One o f the novel things the stage
offers this season lo he seen here

Favor of the Queen” in which Mias
Percy Haswell is be lie starred under
tne direction of George Fawcett.
