The Altar society of the Catholie
church will give a lunch and supper
next Tuesday in the Dillon tabby build
ing on Newcastle street. The object
is ta raise funds for anew altar and
the ladies deserve the patronage of
the public.

The charity ball is to occur tonight
in the parlors of the Oglethorpe and
this event promises to be the most
enjoyable affair of the -season. The
grand march begins promptly at 9
o'clock and the managers request that
all eouples be present before this
hour. Refreshments will be served
