We cannot af ford to devote our space to auch ad virtlsementa and wait on the courts 'or the money. We want the oil foolery anil we should have it. There is something hack of the Eagau-Hanson row. Well, after all Brunswick seems to he attracting the eye of the capital ist- _ , l u That is no joke now about cotton being king now. It is going higher anil higher. Editor Cronheini seems to have scored one on the Atlanta Knights of Pythias lodges. Lets delay that aidermanlc elect ion for another month. It moans a block of paving. i.ets see. Has Brunswick much to be thankful for right hero when pol itic,-! is so very warm? / Wo should get together anti in a quiet way aid that oil factory. Small industries are what we need. If politics was street builder Bruns wick would put Euclid avenue out of business about thirty days each year. j We have herd very little of Carrie Nation and her new role —actress, it is ten to one that she lias "smashed” her manager long before this. Whether Mess, Wilson and Tidier build that hotel on St. Somon or not we ltnowi one thing—if they don’t they are missing the chance of a life-time to get rich. WoniteT jf Uovornoir Terrell has accepted t|he invitation ill the St. Isuiis fair to he there on "Governor's Day it he Ims the managers of the big allow had bolter get it In writing. We would much rather you would borrow your neighbor's paper for if you subscribed for it you would not pay. Tlds is a strong shot for some people we know of. The fact that forces under General Wood killed two hundred means that the senato will confirm the general's appointment. There is a whole lots of sentiment even in the senate of the United States. .lust as the Brunswick News printed the lines "There is something very strange about the fact that Senator Tillman has not ‘broke out' lately. Something must ne wrong.” The sen ator broke out is a lecture in Savan nah. "With Tillmanic frankness" as the Savannah Press expresses it, the senator told his audience that the South Carolina methods of dealing with ihe negro question as to the freedom of the ballot may not be legally sound, but that it met the issue at present an 1 would be ofiliu ue\ and that when the next - Isis arose there would bo found a way to meet it. even if the shotgun had to be called into play. The senator spoke upon the race question and the priu eipal theme that ran through his en tire remarks was that the white man in this country must rule. He left no doubt as to where he stood ou the question or to the end to which he was willing to go to enforce bis Ideas " —Macon New* < THE OIL FACTORY. The people of Brunswick on various occasions have been banded phantom . doses of great enterprises that are sometlmus afraid to cl tonicle the advent of new Industry lest It tail. However, for the past two days we have had with ms two gentlemen who are very much Interested in establishment of a manufacturing in- ( dustry in Brunswick which has its main object the refining of the higher clauses of oil products. The board of trade in conjunction with the business men of the city f ,morally, li.'.ve given this subject the deepest thought, two meetings have been held which were marked for deepest earnestness on the part of those present, and It appears that with a reasonable amount of energy we can locate this factory here in Bruns wick. At the meeting held yesterday in the office of Brobston, Fendlg & Cos., a special committee was appointed to visit Oianesville, Fla., where a similar plant is located and look closely into the matter from every point of view. We understand that a sufficient amount of Brunswick capital is forth coming to insure the plant, but those who are Interestd In the venture are anxious for some tangible evidence of the success of like plants now in existence, hence this visit to Gaines ville. Brunswick! needs small industries and It is to be hoped that the condi tions generally will warrant the es tablishment of this one. The board of trade has been active in the matter and tliev deserve the very fullest measure of praise for their good work. We hope our business men will get that plant for the manufacture oif ma chinery for the extracting of turpen tine from wood. It has no steel plant tiuge to it and this in certainly one good Indication.
