It is rumord that, two prominent Brunswick lawyers will form a part nership on January first. The board of trade will not resume its regular weekly meeting until Thursday of next week. I ,The Men’s club will not hold its regu lar weekly meeting tonight, but a num i ber of the members will meet at the rooms to spend the evening socially. The superior court will convene again next Monday, when the criminal docket will be takeir up and the re maining cases disposed of. The merry-go-round, which has been in operation in the city for several weeks, has closed down for a couple of months. The millinery establishment of Mrs. j Kenner, in the opera house building, which was damaged by Are Saturday night, is closed, pending the arrival of the insurance adjusters. All of the city officials are now busy preparing their yearly reports, which will be rendered at the next meeting of council. Managers Fleming & Waff announce that while there is a scarcity of ; shows at the opera house just at I present, a large number of companies have been booked for later in the sea son, and some of them will be of a high class order. Chief Green of the fire department says he expected a number of runs during Saturday and Sunday, on ac count of the cold weather, but the department responded to only one alarm. We have had smaller number of fires this winter, than in a number of years. E. H. Klemroth, who was superin tendent of construction of the public building in this city, has been sent to Indianapolis, Ind., by the depart ment where he will superintend the construction, of a $2,000,000 building.
