THE BRUNSWICK DAILY NEWS. VOLUME 3, NUMBER 73. WILLIAMS LEAVES SEABOARD AIR LINE Resignation was Accepted at Meeting in New York Yesterday BARRS NAMED FOR THE PUCE A New Board of Directors Was Also Elected, of Which the Former President is Chairman*—Oth- , er Changes. New York, December 30.—The much-talked of meeting of the direct ors of the Seaboard Air Line Rail road Company was held in this city today and the expected happened. It has been pretty well known in Wall street and other financial circles for a number of days that the ascendency of Thcs. F. Ryan in this property would necessitate a change in the official board of the line. •The meeting today was held in the local offices of the comp* iy and was attended by a fairly good representa tion of the directors. The most im portant matter handled by the board was the acceptance of the resignation of John Skelton Williams, of Richmond j Be president of the Seaboard. In his ] letter of resignation, president Wil- j liams annnouced that the action was due to the fact that he desired to de vote Us entire time to his large bank ing interest both in this city and in the south. However, it is understood in financial circles here that the old feud between Williams and Ryan, to gether with the fact that the latter has lately bought up large slices of the Seabord, is accountable for the resignation. , * km -1 ’' m knria, formerly a mem ber of the boars of i , lrcc f ~-‘- ho-cu.
