The Pearl of tne Antibes is right in the limelight of all the world just rrnow, hut the reflection is not a very bright or complimentary one. Sloan's liniment people are onto the proper idea. Rumors of this kind have beery in the air for several weeks and it £eems that the project on the part of/the Southern is now taking tangible /ishepe and is go ing to be culminated in the improve merits outlined. It is a wel known/fact that tie bus iness of the Southern at Brunswick! has increased in fc wonderful ratio I within the last months. Th: \ large warehouses |f the company at; the Turtle river do|:ks are inadequate for the large traffic the company is shipping through (the port ar.d only: recently the edict scame from Wash ington that the facilities out there would have to be enlarged to a great extent. ; With the rapid grojv/tb contemplated for Brunswick in the! next twenty-four months must necessarily come the handling of great quantities of gram and coal through the port and owning such a piece of property as Dennis Folly, it is natural to assume that the company will see the necessity of making these great improvements. The News knows positively that they are contemplated by the South ern and at thi3 time ii only calls at tention to the fact for tWe*J>urpose o; j showing the pleople of Brunswick j how rapidly and in what a solid and : substantial manner their city ir forg : ing ahead. Britain. Germany and Pennsylvania combined, which holds a world mo nopoly on cotton production and Is rapidly becoming a great cotton man ufacturing section, which dominates the phosphate rock and sulphur trade of the world, which has much of the richest oil territory known, which has one-half of the standing timber of the country, which produces all the su gar, all the rice, most of the tobac co, and adds to these 800,000,000 bush- j els a year of grain; and then think j of its walerilower, its splendid rivers. It-, event r.oacost. it:, expanding com meree. and remember Units its cot ton crop alone annually exceeds Iho total gold and silver production of the world, ami that every dollar of poll annually mined on earth is not enough to pay the south': hill a .<in-1 Hu rope for cotton, and you will get jie a faint conception of the future." With all of these magnificent ad cantages tlnis charmingly told b\ tin Manufacturers Record, it is easy to predict what a great njr\ the histor ian of the future has to till ei southern growth and development.
