2 DAYS' DOINGS AT STATE CAPITAL VOTE RECEIVED BY CANDIDATES FOR COURT OF APPEALS— OTHER NEWS NOTES. Atlanta, Ga., Oct. 10. —For the six teen candidates of the court of ap peals an aggregate of 193,151 votes were cast. K. B. Russell, of Winder, Arthur G. Powell, of Blakely, ano Benjamin H. Hill, of Atlanta, were the three successful candidates. HU! beat Henry Peeples, of Atlanta, tn the final count by a majority of 711. The completed vote lor each candi date Is as follows: Russell, 31,759; Powell, 23,480; Hill, 21,689; Peeples, 20,978; Chappell, 11,759; Hammond, 11.58 C; Foster, 10,158; Green, 9,410- Van Epps, 8,517; Jones, 8,363; Will ingham, i ,547; Roberts, 6,757; Jane,, 6,596; Henry, 5,921; Harwell, 5,354; I roffit, 3,766. These three nominees will be elect ed regularly In November, and wih 4n the duties of the new court or appeals on January 1, 1907. The ■ • Tins of the judges under the bill will run for the first time two, four and six years, aud the successful can didates will determine by lot as to the terms each have. As the terms oi these judges expire others will be regularly elected lor the full term oi six years. Ivogan Bleckley will be the clerk oi the new court, receiving a salary ol $4,000 per annum. Mr. Bleckley a long connection with the supremo court as deputy clerk especially ht him for the arduous work of organis ing the clerical department of the court of appeals. Just who will suc ceed Mr. Bleckley as deputy clerk oi iu supreme court is not known yet, but It will probably be Borne one oi the olllcluls already connected with that court. The court of appeals will hold its sessions, lor the lirst year at any rate, in me supreme court rooms, the nine being so divided tnat the two courts will not conflict. In time some other arrangements will be made tor giving the court quarters. Letter Cost Five Dollars. Treasurer R. E. Park has written a letter to an Inquirer in Washington, 11. 0.. which leaves the addressee si> poorer than he was before hearing from Captain Park. Governor Terrell on yesterday of fered two rewards for the capture oi men charged with having committee murder in Butts county. They are Charles Manuel, charged with the murder of John Uowurs on July 3, 1906, and Fred Jackson, charg ed with having murdered Dave Pol lard on August 14 last.
