The Glynn aerie of Eagles were yes terday presented with a handsome, sure enough American eagle, by W. H. Anderson, and within a few' days the national bird will occupy a con spicuous place around the Eagles , hall on Grant street. The pretty bird was ea.pt u red at Ehgles Nest, several miles across the river and purchased by Mr. Anderson, who thought it would oe a very ap propriate present to the local lodge. At present the bird is roosting in tne Arcade saloon, but a large cage is being erected and as soon as it is completed the bird will be placed in it and will be situated just over un door of the stairway leading to the hail. The eagle is a large one, measur ing 7 feet, C inches from tip to tip. It is one of the prettiest birds ever seen in the city, and the members o. ‘he local aerie are very proud of then present, which will be valued higu'v by all of them.
