FOUND SOLDIERS'
WHO THEIR GIRLS
HAD TO LEAVE PLEASANT COM
PANY AND WARM FIRE TO
ATTEND MEETING.
Several members of the Brunswick-
Riflemen, who chose to visit their
best girls rather than attend an im
portant meeting of the company la; t
night, were suddenly surprised when
a detail from the company marched
on the piazzas, knocked the door
and asked if different members of the
company were present, and, upgn re
sponding to the inquiry, were taken in
charge anti escorted to the armory by
rite squad.
When the meeting was called to
order a large majority of the members
were present, but Capt. minn thought
it the duty of every member who
could nossibly do so to be present.
He decided to seud out a detail aftor
some of the men, and other member*
who were present qui lily announced
that they knew where different tneui
,bers could be found and were anxious
to be in the detail to go after them.
The squad was out for probably
Half an hour aud returned with sev
eral members. Some of them wove
found loitering around the drug
stores, while others were seated by a
comfortable fire chatting with the beßt
girls, but It made no difference with
the squad and though they envied the
absent members. It pleased tlljjm to
escort them to the armory.
All of the boys took the matter
good ualured and hereafter when au
important meeting la on they will
pratin' ly be present.
