Thomas Dixon, Jr., in hi newest play, “The One vvoman,” has ot only won the approval of the murchmen. but the regular theatre goer as well. in ereating the characters of “The One Woman” Mr. D xon merely tried to construct a play showing a real istic and yet intensely human cross se:tion of modem life permeated as It is with SociaJism. All the high lights and dramatic Incidents were placed at their true* value and by the time the creative genius of this Southern dramatist had finished, a great, throbbing, thrilling play, brim full of numan interest, was attract ing the staid and blase theatre-goer, as well as the novice. The moral which Is Implied, and which appears only between the lines, is as dominant as though cast in a statue of deathless bronze and placed among the players. “The One Woman” will appear at tne Grand next Tuesday, Nov. 13tn. Seats now on sale at box office. TO CURE ANY DISEASE. The (nuhc Must be Removed, &am War WHIi DunilruSl. At a meeting of the conference committee of the Southeastern Pas senger association in Atlanta it was recommended to the executive com mittee of that organization that the present schedule of theatrical rates be abolished, and a fare of two cents per mile instituted. The question had come up at a meeting of the execu tive committee in New York the lat ter part of the year, but it may be several months before the rates will be established. The present schedule of theatrical rales is only effective In the south eastern part of the Unued States and will not materially reduce tho personnel of the companies as rates of two cents apply to the fares in the other portions of the country. At present, theatrical companies are given a graduated scale, accord ing to the number of people in the company to be hauled. The maxi mum rate of two cents per mile for parties of ten to thirty-five; one and tnree-quarter cents per mile for par ties from thirty-five to fifty, and a cent and a half for parties of more than fifty. The rule will not affect baggage conditions. •Under the new rate bill, any par ties of ten or more people must be given the same rate tnat is given to theatrical companies, as the law pro vides there shall be no discrimina tion.
