LENTEN SEASON BEGINS
A month from today will mark the
beginning of Lent, the penitential
season, when the social world lays
aside for a ftthw all thought of fri

MRS HOPKINS ENTERTAINS
SIX-HAND EUCHRE CLUB
Mrs It. It. Hopalns entertained the
Six-hand Euchre Club delightfully
yesterday afternoon, the affair being
one of the loveliest ever given here.
Ited and green wore the colors used
and they were charmingly carried out
in every detail, even tho refreshments
repeating the attractive color note In
many effective points. The score
cards were very pretty, tied alternn
tidy with red and green ribbons The
prizes, a beautiful Dresden bowl and
