club yesterday nternoon at a pleas- j
ant meeting. IjCnrls was the game
played and thewfirst prize was won
by Miss Mildrey Lyon, the consolation
was cut by -Jpvs Leola Calvin. The
guests of tile club were Misses Leola
Calvin. Mildred Lyoh, Ether Elliott,
Julia Cohen, of New York; and Mrs.
T. (j. Fleming, Jr. Nearly all of the
member* were present and the oc
casion wa- much enjoyed bv all
MRS. GOULD ENTERTAINS
AT A BACHELOR DINNER.
Mrs. H. S. ■Gould complimented Mr.
Milliard Reese with a farewell bacn
elor dinner last evening at her home,
Avora Villa, and the affair was oue
of the most beautiful of the reason.
The hall and dining room were dor
orated with great taste, the decora
tions being from Dennison, of New
York. In the hall bnmftoo and pal
motto, wtih numbers of Japanese lan
terns, wore effectively arranged. The
rear veranda was enclosed for a smok
ing room and lighted by Japanese
lanterns. In the dining room the ceil
ing was hung with smilax and white
<flii*ysanthcm,tms, having as a cen
terpiece a lovely arrangement of
ferns and narcissi, from which hung
many red hells. White garltinli ex
tended from the center to the four
corners of the room. The table was
a lovely picture, draped with smilax
