Over a month ago Postmaster
Smith received notice of some chan
ges In the rules regulating box rent
als. to go into effect April 1 and
the News at that time printed an
explanation of them. As these rules
are now In force beginning Monday
patrons of the Brunswick postoflM#
who rent hoxe a and who are not
acquainted with the changes will be
Interested In a rcpltltlon of that ex
planation. w
Heretofore box rents have been
due at the end of every quarter Jor
the three months preceding, hut, hire
after these rents will he du and pay
abl In advance. The custom has
been to allow patrons ten days after
tbo end of each quarter in which to
pay box rents. Hereafter notice will
be given ten cl. ys before the ex-
of the quarter period that
rentl will bo due for the succeeding
quafter in advance. If the rent is
notlpaid at the expiration of ten
dayaftbe box evi l ibe closed and of
fered for rent and the mall will be
placed in the general delivery.
