That Harbor Magazine continues
to grow in bonds.
Vote for bonds Thursday and a
new brand of progress and prosper

It strikes us that the base

the baseball weather.
Between double taxation aud an
Issue of bonds why give us the bond

MAY THEY LIVE LONG AND PROS
PER.
The announcement of the dissolu
tion of the firm of Brobston. Fen
dig it Company, which appeared in
these columns Sunday morning ix
caaloued considerable surprise In the
city. Commencing at the bottom of
ladder. It has forged steadily to iho
front and today was one of the
strongest and most reliable real es
tate dealers In the south, operating
largely In several adjoining states.
I,a trio of members, all effle clout
and capable business men. are pa'-t
masters In the realty business aud
It seems a pity that the stern de
mands of growing commerce should
have made It necessary torrent In
twala the trtumviiate chain of real
aautte men, than whom there la mo
better on earth.
However, expanslmi U the shibbol
eth la southern development today
(business of these “three
(dices’’ has moved with the throng
and with such an extent
that it beromea necessary to sepa
rate it for Its own benefit.
The News wishes both of the new
firms that abundance of success
that they merit. Our one regret is
that both of them are not to have
headquarters In Brunswick, but sine,;
we cannot have all of them, we
shall have to subscribe to the doc
trine of the love sick maiden who
sang “Hoy happy we could 'be with
either, with the other dear charmer
away.’’
8o this morning, first fluan
of the life of both jma firms of Al
bert Fendig & Cq*pany and Brob
ston and Company, we wish for
hem, individually and collectively,
the very fullest measure of prosper
ity, halth, wealth and happiness.
THE BOND ELECTION THURS
DAY.
The people of Glynn county are
called upon to pass upon a proposi
tion Thursday next to issue bond*
in the of seventy five thous
and dollars, the of which
ire to be applied the building
of anew county jail and tl the re
mainder which will Ave been due on
the new court hot la now under
const ruction, whenVit Is finished, i
The News that
there Is a le^frthy on the part of
certain ch/Fua of Glyun county on
this and open opposition In
other quart era.
Of copse It Is a mat’er for the
people to determine and those who
ire wedded to the one or the other
of the positions we have pointed
out, have a perfect right to their ■
opinions. However, The News la
heartily in favor of the bond Issue
and we are ple&Bed that It is our
prerogative to tell the people of this
common!:y Just why we favor the
plan and to explain to them the
faith there Is tn us.
In the first pla. e these two great
civic Improvements are badly, need
d aud the commissioners have told
the people that the failure of a
bond Issue at this time, when Bruns
wick is undergoing the greatest de
velopment in her history, when we
are Inviting capitalists aud new
coiners to the city, wnen a ibroader
and more liberal spirit of progress
is In the land, we do not think it
would please the owners of capital
aud the seekers of anew home to
advise them ihat they will have to
pay double taxes the very Brat year
of their residence among us and for
a good many years hereafter.
Again, every grand jury in the
county for several years back have
urged the county commissioners v
make these Improvements. The
present jail Is nothing more than a
shack of a peat hole, unsound, un
safe and a disgrace to all healthy
rules of hygiene and sanitation.
Only a few night ago a prisoner
dug his way out of the place, which
ib old and rot en, aud any of them
can do the same thing whenever
they please.
Acting on pieviuOs grand jury
recommendationthe present board
of county commissioners, one of *Ue
b. st In the Mstoty of the county,
ontracted foi anew court house
knowing that sufllclent funis were
.lot In hand to oo pl- e it, be
lieving that the people ot be co -s
--ty would stand by them when tho
opportunity came.
The opportunity is at hand.
The above ibrit-fly enumerated
reasons, it seems to us, ought to ap
peal to the people of this count'/.
A bond Issue is the saieet aud tho
least burdeusome manner In widen
to maketliese improvements, If
gives the rising generation a change
to participate In the burdens and
does not work the h,irds~tps that
double taxes is bound to carry to
the ooor as well as to the rich.
The improvements are necessary
and they are coming and we may
as well look the Issue squarely In
the face and accept proposed
bond Issue as the easiest and most
equitable route to persue.
Go to the polls Thursday and vote
for bonds and anew -brand of pio
gress.

money. Yon will ask the question: €
“How can I sell cheaper than my
down town compedltors?"
First—Because I sell for cash and
