fi IN A BIG STOCK such as ours there are bound to be accumulations of broken lots and odd sizes. It has
always been contrary io our custom to allow these to lay idle. We look upon this as an opportune time both to 'jll/Jwfti
ar the consumer and ourselves to clear them out, and in going through our lines we have brought together
_ g :soo suits, comprising lots that are broken in sizes, hardly more than one or two of a kind, yet a goodly assort- ii/

NO EXTENSION OE
STATE ROUTE NOW
INACTIVITY OF THE COMMISSION
APPOINTED TO ARRANGE FOR
IT IS THE CAUSE.
Atlanta, Ga., June B.—The Hist of
ficial move toward extending the state
road to the sea, as has long been
urged n some quarters, has apparent
ly met with utter failure. Afte a
fight of a dozen cr more years, Hooper
Alexander secured, al the extraordi
nary session of the legislature last
slimmer, the appointment of a special
commission to make a thorough iri
vestigai on of the subject, the report
to have been made to the incoming
general assembly. It looks now as if
no report will lie made, as the com
mission has done practically nothing.
The procrastinating policy of the
commission at the very inception of
the movement will in all probability
furnish new argument to those who
oppose the scheme, with which ic
fight further state experiments in rail
road building.
Though provided with sufficient
funds with which to carry on the work
and having plenty of time in which
to do it, the commission has post
poned and delayed tile matter until
Hie eve of the assembling of the leg
islature finds the subject where it was
left one year ago.
The commission was created under
a resolution providing that the que • •
tion of the extension he Investigated
in all its phases, and particularly with
reference to doing the construction
work with convict labor. The follow
ing well-known men were named to
conduct the work:
State Senators C. W. Bradley, of
Dublin, and J. W. Howard of Mill
edgeville; Representatives Hooper Al
exander, of DeKalb, Joe Hill Hall, of
Bibb, and H. J. Fullbright, of Burke;
Messrs. Joel Hurt, of Aaltna, George
Dole Wadley. of Bolingtiroke, W. H.
Burweil, of Spaita, and Paul Tram
mell, of Dalton.
The lasi four were named by Gov
ernor Smith, the others by the speak
er of the house and the president of
the senate.
