SCHOONER T. N. BARNSDALE
TO TAKE ON CRBOCOTE TI'ES.
The schooner T. N. Barnsdale
reached port, yesterday morning from
Philadelphia and will take on a car
go of , crosstjee for Joyce-Watkiiis
company, for a northern port. The
Barnsdale is an old trader at this
port.
TWO OARS COLLIDE BUT
NONE OF OCCUPANTS HURT.
A Ford being driven by S. D. Lamb,
who resides several miles in the coun
try, was knocked off the read last
ni;;ht dear Chapel. Crossing by a fast
moving ,car. Mr. Lamb was driving
along, he says, at a slow rate of speed
‘when the larger care came head-on
into him, knocking his car off the
road and badly damaging it. The
windshield was shattered, but fortu
nately none of the occupants Of the
car were injured, tl is not known
who was driving the other-tar.
JUDGE ORR SHOWS UP AT
HIS HOME IN SAVANNAH.

pearance of Judge G. .T. Orr, Jr., of
Savannah, formeiiv ~r this city, will
be pleased to learn tna* the young
jurist reutrned to his heme and stito*

leans. His only reason for not ad
vislhg his friends of his whereabouts
was that he was sick. Judge Orr ten
dered his resignation as municipal
judge, and the same was accepted.
The young man is at present very ill
at the home of his parents in Savan
nah.
SAVANNAH GUN CLUB MAY
SHOOT 'HERE THURSDAY.
The, match arranged between the
gun . clubs of Brunswick and Savan
nah for last Thursday, called off' ljy
the Savannah club at the last minute
because some of the members could
not make the trip, will more than
likely be shot over the local traps on
Thursday afternoon of this week. The
local club has again invited the Sa
vannah shooters over and It is ex
pected that they will accept. In the
event they do not come, however, the,
local squad will likply go to Savan
nah for the match.

STANDARD OIL CO. TO START j‘.
ON NEW FILLING STATION.
Much of the material to be used
in the new filling station of the Stan
dard Oil company is no*v being placed
on the site at the corner of Gloucest
er and Reynolds streets, and work
on the station will b igip during the
next few days. It will be a Very pret
ty brick structure.
r The filling station of the Texas
company, now in course of construc
tion at the corner of Gloucester and
Union streets is being pushed rapid
ly and will be ready for occupancy
within a few weeks. ,
CLYDE STEAMER LAKE
FANNIN CAME Y-ESTERDAY.
The Lake .Fannin,, of the Clyde
Steamship company, reached port
yesterday with a miscell neous cargo
cf general merchandise Lr Brunswick
aud interior points. The steamer will
take on a return cargo of the pro
ducts of this section and every effort
will be made to have a full load as
much depends upon the next few car
goes s to whteher the line is to be
cotninued here. Every business man
and citizen of this city and section
should use every effort to get busi
ness for the line as it would be a
serious blow to have it discontinued
and thus deprive Brunswick and the
interior of reduced water rates.
WORK STARTS TOMORROW
ON NORWICH STREET ROAD.
Bright and early tomorrow morn
ing the work of paving Norwich
street, beginning at the point where
the brick paving now ends and ex
tending to the city limits, where the
road will join the new county high
way. Much of the material to be
used in the work ha already been
plaosed along the route, the street
has been staked, and the city’s force
will begin the active work tomorrow.
Florida lime stone will be used, the
same material as was used in the two
blocks out on Glynn avenue, which
made an excellent road. The work;
on Norwich street will be rushed J
and during the time of the impreve- 1
ment the street will be closed to traf
fic.
