It means a serious delay which, when it

To avoid such delays, the telephone user

By this sort of telephone preparedness
you get quicker connections, the operator’s

ular novel, “The Girl Who Lived in
the Woods,” by Marjorie Benton
Cooke. John G. Adolfi directed it.
The story deals with the adven

run away from the world’s wicked
ness. With her dog as her sole com
panion. she bakes refuge in an old
i
shack on a large estate and there
tries to earn her living by skill as an j
artist.
The diversification of locale in the
story adds a particular charm. Miss I
Marsh is surrounded by a cast of the

Kathleen Kirkham, Charles Meredith,
Herbert Prior, Grtchen Hartman, and
George Bertholcm, Jr.

Producer J. PPrker Read, Jr., gave
to the production of “A Thousand to
One,” Hobart Bosworth's first Asso

which is shewing at the Bijou today,
his undivided personal attention and
supervision. J. Parker Read, Jr.’s,
great admiration for the t-rt of his
star and his utiring study of Bos
worth’s work brought him continually
in personal contact with the star and
his directer, Rowland Lee, during ac
tual “shooting” of the picture and so
close w<;s the professional relation
and the friendly feeling between man
ager and star thta only a splendid per

an unusual production cculd result.
