Thousands of People Suffer Permanent Loss of HeaLh Be=
cause of Neglect-Nature Has Set the Hanger Signals for
Us and We Cannot Afford t o Pass Unnoticed the Warning
That She Gives Us.
Good digestion means good health; bad digestion means
bad health.
A sound stomach is worth a hundred times it weight in
gold. Probably eighty per cent of all diseases originate in the
digestive organs. Dyspepsia, or what is more commonly
known as indigestion, is not only one of the most prevalent,
but it is one of the most difficult to treat of all present day dis
eases, and has for years baffled the skill of leading specialists
everywhere.
Stomach trouble is almost always
fallowed by a, complication of dis
eases. One of t3*e first being an over
worked with all the symptons
of biliousness, followed in turn with
headaches, coated tongue, nausea, diz
zy spells, pains in the hack, palpita
tion of the heart and other distressing
symptons/ Sooner or la tier the kid
neys will become involved and that
is just why these danger signals
should be heeded in time. A wise
man puts out the fire before there is
too much destruction; the same the-
ory shtnidl apply to ptorhqch trouble.
Gas in the stomach means fermen
tation instead of digestion; decay,.in
stead of nutrition for fermentation
produces which are absorbed
by the blood and which frequently
bring on the condition knbvyn as auto
intoxication or self-poisoning. This
is also why we develop acidosis,,
which .brings on so many complica
tions such as rheumatism, hardening
of the arteries, high blood pressure
and other conditions, which may
mean permanent loss of health. Aci
dosis is ode of the main forerunners
of Bright’s disease and diabetes,
hence it is evident that ft we h&ve
stomach trfruble, however slight, we
are foolish indeed if wo do not take
prompt steps to corectiß. , v 5
If we are not fit as a fiddle in the
morhing; don’t feel better thin
when we went to bed; if our hreat’i
Is offensive; and we have that had
taste in the mouth; nature lias .jet
the danger signals for us and we can
not afford to neglect the warning that
she gives us. That Ms just why the
demand for Tanlac, the great Sto
machic, Systemic and Reconstructive
tonic has broken all World's recv.is.
The American people have learmfd
that it probably provides the surest.,
f Best, and quickest remedy for all
such troubles, and millions upon mil
lions have taken it, with the moet as
tonishing and gratifying results.
Tens of thousands of men and wo
men of all ages and in all walks of life;
t: filleted with stomach, liver aud kid- 1
ney disorders, some o {them of long
standing, as well Lie thousands of
weak, thrln, nervous men and women'
apparently on tin* verge of collapse
In response to ihe inquiry of many telephone
subscribers: “What can I do to help my serv
ice? 0 this advertisement is published.
Unpreparedness
Causes Delay 'a. J*T
"Wait a minute, Cen-
tral, I’ll get the num- -'pf *
You'd be surprised to know how often
this remark greets the operators every day.
•
It means a serious delay which, when it
occurs" frequently, slows up the whole
service.
+
. To avoid such delays, the telephone user
should always look in the telephone direc
tory for the number wanted before taking
the reciever from the hook.
By this sort of telephone preparedness
you get quicker connections, the operator’s
work is lightened and good telephone
service is greatly-facilitated.

an essential and vitedly important
part of'.the Tanlac treatment where

You cannot hope to get satisfactory
results from the Tanlac Treatment
without first establishing a free and
regular movement of the bowels.. It
stands to reason that no treatment
can do the greater amount of good
when you are suffering from'constipa

kidneys—well, read what a Brunswick
man says;
W. R. Dart, stationary engineer, 4
Glynn Ave., says: “IL have been using
Doan’s Kidney Pills at different time?
whenever my kidneys were out of
order. If 1 watch a cold, It settles on
my kidneys and causes theta to be
weak. Asa result I have pains in the
small of my hack and feel tired and
1 tiguld. My kidneys are too frequent
in action and I often got dizzy and
black specks float before my eyes,
Whenever I notice the symptbns of
the trouble comjng on, I always get a
box of Doan’s Kidney Pills and they
quickly rid me at it.”
The nbove statement wjp given May
29, 1914, and on March 1, 1918, Mr.
Dart said: "The occasional use of
Doan's Kidney Pills keeps my kidneys
in good shape. They are the only rem
edy that ever helped me and I am 1
ways willing to endorse them.”

MAE MARSH WINS IN
“LITTLE ’FRAID LADY.”
“The Little ’Fraid Lady” is the title
of the new Robertson-Ccle super-spe
cial picture, starring Mae Marsh
which will be shown at the Grand
again today. “The Little ’Fraid La
dye is a screen adaptation of the pop
ular novel, “The Girl Who Lived in
the Woods,” by Marjorie Benton
Cooke. John G. Adolfi directed jt.
The story deals with the adven
tures of a little girl who attempts to
run away from the world’s wicked
ness. With her dog as her sole com
panion, she t3ked refuge in an old
shack on a large estate and there
tries to earn her living by skill as an
artist.
The diversification cf locale in the
story adds a particular charm. Miss
M irsh is surrourfded by a cast of the
first water including; Tully Marshall,
Kathleen KirkViin, Charles Meredith.
Herbert Prior, Gretchen Hartman and
George Betholom, Jr.
LEE GIVES PROMISE
' OF SPLENDID CAREER
Rowland V. Lee, leading man with
Hobart Bosworth in his latest J. Par
ker Read, Jr., production, “His Own
; Law,” released by Goldwyn, which
comes tc the Bijou Theatre has
been selected by Mr. Bosworth and
Mr. Read to- direct the star’s next
s
picture. (As Jean Saval, “Frenchy,”
in “His Own Law,” Mr. Lee contri
butes a performance second only to
that of the star in its importance and
in its histrionic skill.
There is no doubt "but that Mr. Lee
, would in a short time be a motion
picture star himself if he wished to
continue acting for the screen, but
his interests havt* been turning to the
directing ebd ol picture production
for some time and Mr. Read has grat
ified that ambition.
Governeur Morris, the Oldwyn-Em
inent Arithor, who wrete “The Penal-
ty” and “A Tale of Two Worlds,” has
succeeded in adding another power
ful story to his Goldwyn photoplays
with the production cf “Ace of
Hearts," which will be shown at the
Bijou Theatre Saturday.
The author has expressed himself
as fortunate in having such splendid
players as Lon Chaney, Leatrice Joy.
and John Bowers in the le?ding roles.
Mr. Chaney will be remembered for
Ms uncanny impersonation of the leg
less criminal in Mr. Morris' story.
“The Penalty." In “Ace of Hearts”
his role is that of a dreamer whose
pussion for social reform is so great
that he will not even stop at murder
to reform the world.

HAVE DM HAIR
AND LOOK YOUNG
Nobody can $ Tell when you
.Darken Gray, Faded Hair
with Sage Tea.
Grandmother kept her hair beauti
fully darkened, glossy and attractive
with a brew of Sage Tea and Sulphur.
Whenever her hAair took on that dull,
faded or streaked appearance, this sim
ple mixture was applied with wonderv
ful effect. By asking at any drug
store for ' "Wyeth's Sago and Bulphur
Compound," you will get a large bot
tle* of this old-time recipe, improved
by the addition of other Ingredients, all
ready to use, at very little cost. This
simple mixture can be depehded upon
to restore natural color and beauty to
the hair.
A well-known downtown druggist
says everybody uses Wyeth's Sage and
Sulphur Compound now because it
darkens so naturally and evenly that
nobody can tell it has been applied-
It’s so easy to use, too. You simply
dampen a comb or soft brush and
draw It through your hair, taking one
strsnd at a time. By morning the
gray hair disappears: after another
implication or two it is restored to Its
•mttiral color and looks glossy, soft
nd beautiful. This preparation is a
lelightfui toilet requisite. It is not in
ended for the cure, mitigation or pro
bation of disease.
