The Brunswick Gun Club decisively
defeated the Savannah Trapshooting
Club in -the second match cf <he sea
son? shot, on the local grounds yester
day afternoon, both of the local squads
coming out ahead of the visitors with
many birds to spare.

The high scores of the afternoon
were'made by J. M. Armstrong and
Vassa Cate; of the local team, each
with 46, while C. X. Balfour, of the
Savannah club, was second, with 45.

City Commissioners and County
Board Are to Have Meeting
on St. Simon Matter Monday
Afternoon and Result of Same
to be Made Public.
. The Board of Glynn county coramis-.
sioners and the city commissioners
held a joint session at the court house
yesterday relative to the St. Simon
bridge matter and it was thoroughly;
discussed. In this connection it may
be stated action so far will best sub
serve all persons and interests by not
being made public at this time.
Another meeting of the city and
county commissioners will be held at
the Glynn county court house Monday,
afternoon at 3 o’clock and after this
session information will he given out.
In the meantime it may be stated that
everything' is moving in a satisfactory
manner on the St. Simon undertaking.

of Mrs. Eastlake Known to
Have Been Greatly Interested
in Vivisection. —Loved Hus
band of Murdered Woman.
Richmond, Oct. 6-.—The possibility
of Mrs. Roger D. Eastlake having been
“murdered in the interest of science”
is now being investigated by the. po
lice today, owing to the intense inter
est Which Miss Sarah Knox, who is
held in connection with the killing, is
reported t ohave evinced in vivisec
tion. Miss Knox, in one of her letters
to Eastlake, Indicated tha t some
time in the future she intended to
martyr herself in the interest of sci
ence.
The letter said she was acquainted
with a “very talented physician and
surgeon” at Ocean City, N. J., who was
interested in vivisection and who be
lieved that he could give the world
discoveries which would prove of
“great benefit to mankind” If he conld
find somebody who would volunteer
to place himself or herself at his dis-
