POULTRY SHOW ON
OCTOBER 23.24,25
Glynn County Poultry Associa
tion Held Interesting Session
at Board of Trade Rooms
Last Night.—Winter Me§fr
ings to be Resumed. w
The Glynn County Poultry associ
ation held an interesting meeting in
the Board of Ttade rooms last night
and many matters of an important
nature were discussed. Among these
was the resolution to resume the reg
ular semi-monthly meetings of the as
sociation. During the summer months
no meetings have been held but here
after, or until spring, sessions will be
on at the Board of Trade rooms on
the second and fourth Friday even
ing of each month.
It was decided last night to put on
a poultry show, beginning October
23rd'and continuing through the 25th.
This will be held in the barracks
building at the corner of Newcastle
and Prince streets and is a very ap
propriate place for it as the structure
is roomy and its location is excellent.
Since last year a number have been
doing exceedingly well at poultry rais
ing and some fine birds are expected
to be shown. Country residents will
be expected to bring in their very
best and the three days will be of
greatest interest to breeders and the
public In general.

60LF CLUB MAY BUY
GROUNDS. IT USES
Property is Owned by Henry P.
Talmadge, of New York,
Who, It Seems, Has Made Up
His Mind to Break Present
Plan With Club.
The beautiful property which has
been used by the Brunswick Golf Club
may soon pass into the hands of this
organization as it is understood tjie
owner, Henry P. Talmadge, York
banker, desires to dispose of the land
and has so informed his agents in this
city.
By an arrangement the club has
been using the land for golf purposes,
the only renumeration being the pay
ment of all taxes due the city, state
and county, but this plan, it is under
stood, has, or will be, terminated by
the owner and the club set about with
an idea of purchasing it which will
give the organization excellent per
manent links.
At a meeting of members t>f the
club it was decided to form a com
pany and take the property over, but
this is only in its initial stage as yet,
but there is little doubt tha the club
will buy it and close the deal at an
early date.
REBELS HELD UP TRAIN
AND ROB PASSENGERS
(By Associated Press.)
. Mexico City. Oct. 14. —Fifty armed
men, under the leadership of the reb
el captain Castillo yesterday held up
a passenger train from Vera Cruz to
Mexico City near the small station
of Signoret, seven miles from Pueblo,
robbed the passengers and escaped
with considerable booty.
The bandits made their escape after
forcing the passengers to walk into
the village of Signoret. Shots were
exchanged and three persons were
killed. Whether these were bandits
or passengers wag not stated in the
first news of the holdup which reach
ed Mexico City today.
