CARTER D’HAVENS IN A
ROLLICKING SCREEN FARCE
“The Girl in the Taxi/’ the latest
Iprce comedy production made by Mr.
andf Mrs. Carter DeHaven for First
National, which will be shown at The
Grand again today, is the type of
farce comedy that is at once wml?
some and rollicking fn its humor. It
is devoid of the claptrap that is usual
ly inherent in the average farce pic
ture. Here we have the Doilavens in
a capital comedy, with the situations
arising naturally, dith rapid fire ac
tion and always keeping- the spectator
on edge with laughter.
One of the best situations in the
pictuie reveals a policeman qu f te un
expectedly discovering his wife as
one of a party of founders. But
it will have to be seen to be appie
i dated.
Mr. and Mrs. DeHaven nr? seen re
spectively in the roles of Bertie Stew-,
art and Mignon Smith, tin latter be
ing the girl in the taxi. Despite the
fact that his father has dubbed him a
mollycoddle, Bertie proves, himself
anything but one. He hides In a taxi
In order to evade his father, when
in conies a young lady iwao hired the
machine) and the taxi speeds off.
The east of supporting players ord
their respective charade-Nations is
excellent.
All the big First National produc
tions are now being shown at the
Grand at 10 and 20c.
