The fragile- structure which I reared

“UNIVERSAL FROCK” HAS
QUITE A SPANISH AIR

Dress reformerss are always show
ing us some kind of a style which ran
be worn morning, noon and nig it, to
get breakfast in and to wear to the
opera, but usually they are modes
which no one but a dress reformer
would care to wear. Here is anew
gown, however, which is really wear
able for both afternoon and evn*ng
occasion. That fa why it is called the
“unversal" frock.
The Spanish influence is clearly
shown in the model with its black ec
cordioßr pleated skirt and novel tas
sel trimming. The silk fringe tassels
form a regular tunic on the frock.
The unusual bbodice resembles a
Spanish shawl in lines and its edges
in white and fastened at the waist
with a large blaek and white orna
ment. As you see it here it is the*
afternoon frock. When the shawl ef
fect Is removed however, milady ap
pears In a sleeveless evening gown,
which is very smart indeed.

THE EFFICIENT WOMAN.
We hear a great deal nowadays
about the efficiency of women. In the
tarrhal mucus from the intestinal tract
novels of fifty years -ago. who ever
heard a woman praised for her execu
tive ability,, force and energy, in the
sense that it is used today? The frail,
delicate, helpless ideal of womanhood
has passed away. How is it possible
to measure up to the ideals of mod
ern womanhood? In the first place,
we must keep our bodies in the best
possible condition.
Thousands of women have succeed
ed through daily baths, exercise in
eth frfesh air, and Lydia E. Pinkham’s
Vegetable Compound at the first sign
of female weakness.
