RAPID GROWTH OF ALONSO

Will Soon be the Case. I
Probably uo enterprise has ever
started in Brunswick that has made
as great progress in the.short space
of time as lAlonso Brothers’ cigar fac

of the Wright & Gowen building,
corner Bay and Mansfield streets. In
removing from the former location,
corner Gloucester and Richtnond, It
was the desire of the management to
secure more comomdlous quarters
and they hove certainly succeeded
as none could he found anywhere
which surpass the excellent location
the company now has. With over
twenty five clgarmakers at work, It

THIRTY-TWO CARS
HERE ON MONDAY
Among Number Arriving Mon
day Was a Sight-Seeing Af
fair Carrying Twenty-seven
Passengers From New Eng
| land to Points in Florida.
By actual count Monday, thirty*-
two cars, practicajly all Florida bound
tourists came to Brunswick and while
many of these remained in the city
only’a short time, it is a fact that they
really came.
The most interesting “machine"
was a sight-seeing affair, with twen
ty-seven passengers aboard, and they
all -seemed to be greatly pleased with
the trip so far. The manager of the
enterprising line was among those in
the car and he states that these trips
will be made at frequent intervals.
A rate of $25 is made for the round*
trip which consumes ten days. This
includes fare alone, and, pf course,
the passenger must take care of him
self as to meals and lodgings.
The party left some days ago and
reached here Sunday, spending the
night in the city and proceeding to
Jacksonville yesterday morning. The
big car attracted a great deal of at
tention. It took on gas, oil, etc., here
and will tour certain parts of the state
of Florida. Considering the increase
in railroad fare, the price charged is
considered real low.
Bungalow on Wheels. -
Probably the mdst interesting mo
tor vehicle passing through this sea
son, came yesterday morning. It
was a miniature bungalow on wheels.
The neat little affair had all the com
forts o? a real heme, even to a back
porch. The inmates are regular Flor
ida visitors and will make their home
in the rather novel auto-edifice all
during the winter.
is the intention ttj increase this num
ber, and as rapidly as they eau be se
cured, as the factory is now 75,000 be
hind in orders. Only vestprday an or
der was received > from a Waycrdss
dealer for 5.000 and these are coming
in from various sections of the coun
try, extending as far as Virginia.
The leading brands made by Alonso
Brothers are R. \\ A., Young Men’s
Club, (Y. M. Cm) and Lopez Blunts,
and these have rapidly become the
favorites with men who like a real
good figar. This factory promises to
•oon become one of Brunswick’s larg
est industries.
