CLYDE LINE STEAMER
ARRIVED YESTERDAY.
The Clyde. Line steamer, Lake Fan
nin, reached port yesterday with a
miscellaneous cargo for Brunswick
and Interior points. On the return

the steamer’■will carry a larger cargo
than has listen the case in many re
cent sailings.
IT WILL B>L CLEAR AND COLD
ACCORDING TO WEATHER MAN.
Weather reports received yesterday
from Washington, indicate that it will,
be clear and’ colder for the next sever- j
al days, at least. The report does not ■
mean that real winter will come, but !
it does say that the warm weather is '
really over until gentle spring rolls j
around. In the meantime wood deal-;
ers are noticing a great increase in
their business.
HARBOR CRAFT STILL
AT THEIR MOORINGS.
All the smaller harbor craft are lay-!
Ing close in and will continue until
there is a break in the weather. Of
| course prawing operations have stop
ped as well as llshing. The larger
( raft are laying in also and will con
tinue to “lay’' until the northeaster
breaks. None would dare to risk it
out until the barometers clears a lit
tle.

WIND DID SOME SLIGHT
DAMAGE IN THIS CITY.
Although Brunswick fared well \n
the hetivy northeaster, which has been
on since Monday, there was really
seme damage done here, but this was
if a small nature. Probably the worst
hit was the Dodge headquarters, on
Newcastle street. Here two large
plate glasses were smashed, probably
by a falling sign. In other parts of
iS.jfVC- JCTQWfiti
the city fences were blown down, but
.outside of these nothing serious re
sulted.

EXCITING RUNAWAY AND
MIRACLE NO ONE HURT.
Yesterday afternoon Drayman Mun
gin had probably the closest call he ev
er dreamed of having. Driving a blind
Montana horse, the animal by fright
or meanness dashed down Newcastle
and headed straight for the large
p’ate glass window on the Gloucester
side of Hatcher & Lundberg’s drug
fltore. By wonderful presence of
jnind, Mungin guided th*' maddened
animal between automobiles and
struck just about the stairway leading
to the second story of tne Wright
building. The horse dashed Into the
wall, the driver and the wagon body
made a complete somersault and,
'strange to say Mungin was not hurt. A
crowd of more than a hundred saw
the runaway and ail agree that noth
ing short of a miracle saved the driv
