THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.
* *' i
If we sit dcfivn at set of sujt,
And cq libV s We' things that we have
done?™' '* *'■‘ :i ’ 1
One seif-denying act, one word
That eased the heart of liim who
heard. ' -
One glance most kind.
That fell like sunshine wfiere it went
Then we may count the day Well
m >OJI
spent.
But, if- through a’l the -livelong day
We’ve eased no heart by aye or nay,
If, through it all
We’ve done no thing that we can
trace
That brought sunshine to a face;
No act*, most small,
That helped some soul and nothing
cost.
Then count that day as worse than
lost. —Selected.
