WHAT YOU’LL SEE IN “GOOD
WOMENf’ AT GRAND TODAY—
The Greenwich Village salon of one
of the most talked-of young women of
New York.
>i 0 .
Why a picturesque disregard for the
cbtfveniions merely means a lack of
niorai fibre. j
How a lovie-sick, unconvenitional
heiress was brought to belieye that
her lover’s wife “didn’t count.”
How a woman who intended to live
her life according to her own ideas be
came a Good Woman.
The disillusionment of a young wo
man who -fled with another woman’s
husband and how it developed into a
Good Woman.
A pretty chateau in the south of
France.
The brutality of the world which
forgets a man’s transgressibns, but
never forgives a woman’s.
The fine estates and restaurants of
Monte Carlo, where the “life” of Eu
rope lives.
SMALL BUT PERFECT CAST IN
“DANGEROUS CURVE AHEAD!”
"There are so many- excellences in
the new Goldwyn picture, “Dangerous
Curve Ahead!”, which opened at the
Bijou Theatre last night, that it is dif
ficult for the reviewer to point out
one that stands out above another.
Perhaps the author, Rupert Hughes,
deserves the first thanks for writmg
an original story that is neither a re
hash of old plot ideas nor a copy bf
any of his innumerable short stories
or novels. He has taken a few years
of the life of a young married couple
and let us into the secrets of their
differences, their joys and their fipal
adjustments to each other’s tempera
ments
It was a difficult story to do simply
and sincerely, yet the Goldwyn com
pany gathered one of the most com
petent small casts that ever made a
picture live on fhe screen. The roles
of the young wife and the young hus
band are remarkably ‘played by Hel-J
ene Chadwick and Richard Dix, the!
latter a veritable “find.”
In view of the virtuosity o ftheiri
impersonations, it would seem that
when they were acting together, each
would be tempted to stop in sheer ad
miration of the other’s performance,
But they lest themselves so complete
ly in their roles; tti4FYjte result is a
