“DOUG” STAGES HIS
GREATEST FIST FIGHT
A real fight in which the only
weapons used are bare knockles, adds
to the many thrills included in “The
Mollycoddle,” the third United Art
ists Corporation produtcion offered by
Douglas Fairbankcs, which will be
shown at the Bijou theater today.
During his long career as a screen
star Douglas Fairbanks has had many
“battles” of a more or less spectac
ular nature. In some cases he has
hafl just the “villain” to handle and
in others he has even gone so far as
to “beat up” an -entire gang. Without
exception all previous fights indulged
in by the athletic star have been re
hearsed, but not so with the fight in
“The Mollycoddle.”
“It was the toughest fight I have
ever had,” smiled the star after the
scene was filmed. “I’ll say so, too,”
volunteered Wallace Beery, who was
Doug’s opponent and likewise the
player who shoulders the thankless
burden of “villian” in the picture.

THE BRUNSWICK NEWS
He's eccentric and mean and erfth-
won’t let the children run j
across his lawn. All in all he’s just
about the worst neighbor it is pos
sible to imagine.
And you sWear by all this is holy
that if his house burned down and you
could save him, you’d let the old crank
crackle in ‘the flames. “
But you wouldn’t. You just think
so. That's just what Christine Trevor
always said she wnuld do.
Joshua Barton was the old man
next doer. He was everything a good
neighbor shouldn’t be. And Christine
hated him.
Then one night came the test. The
Barton house caught fire. The old
man, a the only one
in the place.
His cry for help shieked above the
roar of the flames. There was no in
decision—Hq hesitation Christine
Trevor —the little spoiled f-lapper, who
never did a' willing favor for anyone
in her eighteen spoiled years, ran into
the blazing home.
A little girl, dragging a prostrate
form of an.yid grouch, came out just
as the fire-engines stepped in front.
And the girl next-door learned that
the old grouch wasn’t an old grouch
at all. That he was just a dear, sweet
old man/w'ho needed some love to
come into his wrinkled heart.
Gladys Walton makes an adorable
Christine in her latest Universal pic
ture “High Heels,” which comes to
the Grand theater today, while the
distinguished actor and director,
William Worthington, is the old
grouch-next-door.
