Y.W.G.A. FUNO IS
MOVING UPWARD
At End of Yesterday, Three
Days of Campaigning, Com
mittees Have Raised a Cred
itable Amount. Total $1,163
Three days of their campaigning
over Y. W. C. A. warkers have
$1163.16 in hand towards the $3,400-
they are bound to get. “We
have merely skimmed the surface as
yet, and from now on we are going
digging,” they declare. |What they
have has been got through earnest
effort, and has been given with gen
erous good-will. In addition to con
tributions from regular givers, who
are always to be depended upon, sev
eral new givers have entered their
subscriptions upon the lists. A num
ber of gifts have come unsought, and
on every hand cordiality has been the
order of the day. “I’d rather do this
soliciting than go to the best musical
comedy,” exclaimed one reporting
campaigner with sincere enthusiasm.
“There is so much of the human
touch in it,” she added. Another can
vasser joined in with, “I’m going to
volunteer for the regular, all-year
round service in the Y. W. C. A., I
like the work so much.”

Bt>me of the best prospects are as
yet untouched. However, many a
stiff stroke has yet to he taken before
the home stretch is reached. "It
won’t be Thanksgiving for us next
week If our goal has not reach
ed,” the loyal workers say, and they
invoke the aid and support of every
Brunswick citizen to bring to a suc
cessful finish In time for a full cele
bration of next week’s holiday.

SUE FOR WIST
CAMP IS SECURED
It Will be Located f)n Tadmadge
Land Just Inside the City Lim
its on Broadfield Road.—To
Run Water Pipes and Electric
Wires There Monday.
Through the efforts of a large num
ber of citizens, chief among whom has
been Edwin W. Dart, and with the
cooperation of City Manager Gram
ling and the city commis
sioners, a tourist camp site has been
secured and its location is ideal. It
will be on what is known as the
“Talanadge” property, right along the
Broadfield road, and within the lim
its of tihe city.
It is on the right side of the road
on entering the city, and is protected
from anyi heavy winter winds by the
many shade trees. No prettier or
more convenient location could have
found anywhere in this or any
other section for tihe purpose for
which it is to be used.
For several weeks visitors hava
been camping out near Arco and at
various other locations near here, and
it is but justice to them that ft con
venient place be provided for them,
just as nearly all the cities in this
section are doing. Three or four par
ties are camping near here at present
and they visit the city every day.
One of the number, R. O. Riles, of
Dayton, Ohio, has rented a house, and
will spend the remainder of the win
ter here, and he says others from
his section of the country would do
the same thing if they hut knew what
a fine climate Brunswick has.
SALVATION ARMY WILL
TAKE REPENTENT GIRL
Capt. and Mrs. Walsh *went down to
the city hospital yesterday afternoon
for a talk with Ruby Atkinson, the
young woman who has made two at
tempts at suicide, and, believing her
to be sorry for her sins and determ
ined to lead a good life in the future
the Army has agreed to take sharge
of her when her physical condition is
such that she can leave the institu
tion.
Capt. Walsh says the girl seems to
lack the moral courage to return to
her parents in Columbia, a. C.. and be
is of the opinion that her life can vet
be made useful tinder the care of the
Salvation lArmy.
