1 The department was called cut
about noon yesterday to the corner of
Bay and Dartmouth streets where a
shingle fire at the store of T. J. Ab
bott had started*. The blaze wad
quickly extinguished with small dam
age.
THE BRADY HOME IS
DAMAGED BY FIRE.
The home of J. M* Brady, on John
son was slightly damaged early last
night by a small blaze which started
around’ the fireplace. The
ment made a quick run and the fire
was extinguished without sericus
damage.
WEDNESDAY PRESBYTERIAN
SERVICE IS POSTPONED.
On account of the coming af the
Emory Glee club Wednesday night,
services at the First Presbyterian
j church have been postponed until
Thursday, night when the regular
weekly sermo-n will be delivered hy
the pastor, Rev. F. D. Thomas.

JORDAN PREACH SUNDAY.
A large congregatron greeted Rev.
W. A. Jordan at the Advent Christian
church Sunday 1 and he delivered an
• able sermon. Mr. J-crdan has been
living In Live Oak. Fla., many years
and has not ibeen -to Brunswick in a
long time. He was agreebaly surpris
ed at the growth of the city since he
left and predicts a great future for it.

Members of police force
spent yesterdap in Hoboken, where
they were summoned as witnesses In
two or three criminal cases, they hav
ing assisted the officers of that coun
ty in one or more whiskey raids. Not
only the county officers attended the
court there hut raanv ethers, includ
ing several attorneys.
WOOD DEALERS HAD
A RUSH YESTERDAY.
After a season of Inactivity, caus
ed t\y the unusud§ warm weather, lo
cal fuel dealers had a busy day of it
yesterday and many loads were deliv
ered to every section of the city.
There has been a considerable reduc
tion in price this year, along with a
drop on other necessities.
JURY COMMISSIONERS
ARE STILL K>N JOB. •
The Glynn county Jury commission-,
ers met as usual yesterday morning
at the court house and did a jrreat
deal of work In revision of the boxes.
From Indications the board will not
finish before the end of the present
week. It Is thought that after revi
sion the boxes will carry more names
than ever In the history of Glynn
county.

FIRST METHODIST SUNDAY.

Warde, at the First Methodist church
Sunday and hi* sermon was favorably
commented upon hv many. Mr.
Warde. besides being a fluent talker.
Is also an eloquent platform orator
and this fact can be vouched for by
the scores who heard his discourse
at the First Methodist. Rev. Thomas
H Thompson, pastor of the church,
who Is attending conference at Tlfton
will return In time to oc.ru 1% the pul
pit next Sunday.
