MOTHERJAYE IT
Virginia Lady Suffered With Achei
and Pains Until Mother Began
Giving Her CafduL
Dublin, Va.—Mlbb Mary Alice
Hughett residing on Route 2, near
here, recently told a visitor of her
interesting experience with Cardui,
Miss Hughett said: “I had been suf*
fering for some timd with painlul . . .
I was pale, didn’t feel like going.
Would just drag around, and couldn’t
test to do any good. I would suffer
once a month with my back, sides
and head. My limbs would ache and
I didn’t know what to do, but I knew
I must do something, for I didn’t get
well by letting It run on.
“My mother Is a believer in CarduJ,
for she saw what it did for others as
well ao herself, so she began giving
it to me.
"It wasn’t long before I saw a
change. It was just what I needed.
It regulated me. I began to eat and
sleep, and the pain stopped.
“Cardui Is without doubt the best
female tonic made, and I am glad I
can recommend it to others.”
If suffering with symptoms such as
Miss Hughett mentions, or other ail
ments peculiar to women, why not be
in Cardui at once? Its merit is well
established by successful use for more
Lhan 40 years.
I'ry Cardui!

EAT LESS MEAT
IF BACK HURTS
Take a glass of Salts to flush Kidney*
j; if Bladder bothers you— Drink
lots of water.
Eating meat regularly eventually pro
duces kidney trouble in some form or
other, says a well-known authority, be
cause the uric acid in meat excites the
kidneys, they beedmo overworked; get
sluggish; clog up and cause all sorts of
distress, particularly backache and mis
ery in the kidney region; rheumatic twin
ges, severe headaches, acid stomach, ooo
stijration, torpid liver, sleeplessness,
bladder and urinary irritation.
The moment your back hurls or kid
neys aren’t acting right, or if bladder
bothers you, get about four ounces of
Jad Salts from any good pharmacy;
take a tabieapoonful in a glass of water
before breakfast for a few days and your
kidneys will then act line. This famous
salts is made from the acid of grapes
end lemon juice, combined with lithia,
and has been need for generations to
flush clogged kidneys and stimulate them
to normal activity; also to neutralize the
acids in the urine so it no longer irri
tates, thus ending bladder disorders.
Jad Baits cannot injure anyone;
makes a delightful effervescent lithia
water . drink which millions of men and
women take now and then 'to keep the
kidneys and urinary organs clean, thus
avoiding serious kidney disease. •

What Is a Station to Station
Lone Distance Call? t
W Sj
•tw
ON station to station calls the person originating the call does no!
specify a particular person to be reached, but gives only the nun**
ber of the telephone called or the name or address under which!
the telephone is listed.
The station to station rate is, and properly so, les* L.jU die rate for the
person to oerson call. The company can, unless through is own fault, al
ways reach any station desired connected with its system, while it cannot
guarantee that any particular person desired will be at the station to talk*
Therefore, a station to station call represents a minimum effort and cost
to the company in establishing a telephonic communication between any two
stations at distant points, and it is both logical and right that this rate should
be relatively lower than when the company must do other things at the *er -<
quest of the patron, such as not only getting a station connection, but also J
locating and getting a particular person to the telephone. V
Jfjg evening rate on station to station calls made between 8. 30 and
midnight is one-half the day rate. The night rate on station to station
Blade between 12:00 midnight and 4:30 a. m. is one-fourth the day
Report charges are not made on station to station calls.
If there is anything about our rates and practices you do not unacrsian<L-2|
call the business office and w will be glad to explam the whole details
