QUIET CHRISTMAS, BUT
GENERALLY OBSERVED.
While all seemed to have the spirit
of the day, it was really a quiet Christ
mas in the city and one of the most o*
derly. Sunday the varicus houses of
worship were well filled while at the
churches which held services Monday
larg e congregations were present.
1 lie merchants all closed their places
of business at noon, while the whole
sale houses did not open at all. The
court house, city hall, banks,.ln fact,
ail the city’s public buildings were
Cosed for the entire day. Yesterday
business in all lines was resumed and
everything became normal again.
TWO HOUSES BADLY
burned Yesterday.
At 1:30 yesterday morning the
boose*, 2123 and 2124 Ellis street,
were badly damaged by fire and al*
though the department made a good
run to the scene, the flanies had gain
ed such headway that confining the
Hr f . .to these buildings was good work.
Tlie houses were owned by Mrs. Tor
kildsen; one was occupied by her and
the other by W. -H. Bunkley. The
houses were partly covered by insur
ance.

LOWERING PRICES IN
BATTERY BUSINESS.
The Brunswick Battery & Motor
Cos., who represents Willard Storage
Batteries here, announce anew price
reduction, effective December 25th.
“This is but another adjustment of
prices to th e changing cost of raw
materials,” said Mr. Jas. D. Gould, Jr.,,
manager of the company, “and not a
change in the standards of quality for
which the Willard Buttery has been
noted. Nor is the quality of service
that goes with that battery to suffer
any change whatever. We believe
that a battery’s reputation depends
largely upon the care it receives, and
*Kpect to continue to help our cus
ers take care of the batteries they
buy from us.”

Don’t hlalne your children for lack

It Is not always the children's fault

ueys sud can be readily righted. Reau
this Brunswick mother's advice.
Mrs. L. E. Smith, 803 I street, says:
‘My kidnevs were weak and l felt run
•town. I also laid backaches. My kid
neys acted irregularly and l felt weak
and languid. I began using Doaq’s
Kidney Pills and they helped me won
derfully. I soon felt like a different
person. 1 have also given them to
my little hoy, who had weak kidneys
and didn’t seem to have any control
over their action. Dom's Kidney Pills
soon regulated his kidneys and proved
of great benefit to him. I can rec
ommend Doan’s Kidney Pills for I
know they are a fine kidney remedy.”
