New Year’s Work to be Mapped
Out, Election of Officers, and
1 Many Matters of an Interest

J. B. Abrams, member of the execu
tive committee of the Boy Scouts for
this district, wired yesterday telling
the officers that it would be impossible
for him to be present but it is likely
that Mr. Pullem will come over from
St. John's Haven this morning and
attend the meeting. In speaking of
the session, the Waycross Journal
says:'
"The annual meeting of the Oke
fenokee Council, Boy Scouts of Ameri
ca, with jurisdiction over thirteen
counties of Southeast Georgia will be
held here nekt Friday, Dec. 30. t
The meeting will toanvene at 10:30
a! m. at the Municipal building ac
cording to the call issued by Presi
dent V. L. Stanton. The executive
board, courts of honor, deputy com
missioner, council committees and
members at large are urged to attend
the meeting. Election of officers, re
ports of committees, progress of the
Boy Scout movement in each county,
annual report of Scout Executive, and
plans for the ensuing year are fea
tures of the meeting. The- council din
ner at 1 o'clock will be attended f>y
a delegation of Boy Scouts who will
render a short program.
"Newspaper men-, county school su
perintendents, members of Rotary and
Kiwanls clubs and ministers are giv
en a special invitation to the after
noon conference.
"The Okefenokee council is closing
a very successful year In activity and
organization. Five hundred and for
ty-seven scouts are enrolled in three
troops under its Jurisdiction. There
were only 225 scouts in three counties
last spring when the work began.
