Localy: Thundershowers, moderate
variable winds. Conditions elsewhere:
Numerous showers occurred in the
South and Northwest during the last
twenty four hours, rainfall being mod
erate to excessive in amount. Exces
sive rains occurred near the Texas
coast and at scattered stations in
Georgia and the Carolinas. Tempera
tures are lower under the rain areas.
The pressure continues highest in the
Southeast and lowest in the South
west.
A., B. & A. EXCURSION
COMING TOMORROW.
Another excursion will be operated
over the A., B. & A. tomorrow morn
ing bringing down people from all
along the lines at points as far as
above Fitzgerald and it is expected
that the largest crowd pf the present
season will be here. An unusualyl low
rate has been made for the trip.

ATTEND FUNERAL TODAY. *

ed to be at the residence of Mrs. W.
H. Hall, 150S .Cothran avenue, at 4
o'clock as the entire camp will attend
the funeral of this estimable woman,
the wife of a brave Confederate veter

DESIRES TO HAVE TWENTY
MEMBERS MUNICIPAL BAND.
It is the intention and desire of
Leader Fennell, of the Municipal band,
to run the membership up to twenty or
more and he stands ready and willing
to assist any young man who wants
to learn a band instrument and if
any of these will communicate with
him they will be told exactly what the
requirements will be. In the mean
time the organization is moving along
in excellent shape and promises to
soon be one of the leaderst of the
state.

ANOTHER TRIP THURSDAY.
The steaming Inca, or the South At
lantic Towing Association, returned
Thursday night from Jacksonville
where it went to tow the barge-tanker
Pittsburgh which carried a cargo of
refined oil from the Atlantic Refining
Company.
WEEKLY LUNCHEON OF
THE YOUNG MEN’S CLUB,
The regular weekly meeting of the
Young Men's Club yesterday was an
interesting event especialy as to the
efforts the organization i K making in
behalf of the local Salvation Army
drive and new committee members
were named which insure renewed
efforts in behalf of the deserving or
ganization. Elliot W. Butts, for chair
man of the club presided yesterday.
WORK IS STARTED ON
HOPE STRONG’S HOME.
Bright and early yesterday morning
work on Hope Strong’s home, corner
George and iF!ilis streets was started
by Contractor John iiaumgartner and
it will be shoved to rapid completion.
As reported in these columns yester
day, the building will cost something
in the neighborhood of $6,000 and will
be modern in every way.
DIPPING DAY ON ST. SIMON
HAD CATTLE OWNERS BUSY.
If ever there was a busy crowd of
people it was the crowd of cattle own
ers on St. Simon Thursday, as it was
dipping day and practicalyl all entered
into the observance of the new law

though several are bitterly opposed to
this particular Georgia statute. . In
this connection it mav be stated.that
St. Simon, long noted for. < Title, and
watermelons, }a hotter bre'ed of
stock now and during the next few
years some fine animals will he found
there, all of which will come to the
Brunswick market.
