Exclusive Feature of Yesterday's
Game Was Beautifu 1 Double
Play Made by Howeli and
Wooten,
(By Scotty.)
When lie* nit; fifteen train pulled
out last night, fourteen Uncle Sara’:’
Marinas were comfortably seated in
a smoker, talking of the weather and
other familiar topics, but not of base
ball. When the top sergeant went
.to hunt the news butch. Pitcher Rouse-;
naur told me confidentially that there
was too much Owens at the game yes
terday. ’Twas the latter who aused
their third defeat at the hands of the
Millerites. The score was 6 to 4.
Owens pitched a good game, letting
the Islanders down with six bingles,
while the Millerites gathered nine hits
off Rousenaur.
Practically all of the locals shared
in the battiqg. However, Holton and
Wooten led the string, with several
terrific wallops.
In the first inning Brunswick jumped
on Rousenaur, securing three hits,
scoring three runs, but tiie Jircne
twirler tightened up and pitched good
ball for tiie rest of the game.
Tb e exclusive feature of yesterday's
game was the beautiful double-play
made by Howeil and Wooten. Howell
pulled a hot liner out of the heavy
laden sky, which made the grand stand
dizzy, then whipped the pellet to first,
catching a visitor bfffor e he could re
turn to the sack.
In the ninth inning when the lans
were brushing off the peanut hulls, ar
ranging their wraps, and searching for
a street car ticket, they suddenly re
sumed their seats, for the Marines
would not give up. Deep down in the
valley of defeat, with the score stand
ing six to two, with no visible chance
of surviving, they began to fight, two
Marines caught a life line and got on
base by a walk and an error, then a
w’iid throw advanced them to second
and third. When the grand stand w-s

MABEL NORMAND IN
“MEAD OVER HEELS.”
At the Bij u Theatre Monday Ma
bel Normand again demonstrates that
she lias forgotten none of the humor
ous acre bat is tricks with which she
delight: and her inlands in such pic
tures as “A Perfect' Thirty-Six" ‘The
.Slim Princess’ and others. The photo
play is the Gold win production., "Head
Over Heels.’’ which had a long run
jas a musical comedy.
Miss Nonnand appears as a for
eign acrobat who has been engaged
for an American tour but she hopeless
ly mediocre. Her attempts to prove
her ability to her managers give Miss
Nonnand the opportunity to revel!
I in those antics that made her famous.!
j However, when she finds that she is I
a failure, her romantic temperment
gets the best of her and she turns
to pugilistic means to convince her
detractors of her worth. Despite her
artistic failure, th e imported ’’star'” j
makes a genuine conquest. But toj
reveal how this came about would be j
to spoil the enjoyment of those who
will laugh at Mabel Normand Monday
! and c-hucltfle over |her 'performance
long after she lias left the Bijou.
I “Head Over Heels’’ was directed by
Victor Cchertzinger and Paul Bern. In
the supporting cast ar e Russ Powell.

Dangerous urinary troubles often

what to do.
Mrs. B. Meeks, 2229 Norwich St.,
says: “I can hardly describe the mis

time ago. I had a soreness and swell
ing over my right kidney. My feet,
bloated badly and I was languid and
out of sorts. JJy kidneys acted irreg

in the-Top and back of my head. I
read about Doan's Kidney Pills and
decided to try them. So I bought a
box at Cdte's Drffg Store. Doan's
gave me wonderful relief and I felt
like a different woman.”
