Fred Keats, a New York critic,
recently received an interesting
letter from a fight fan and friend
abroad which he printed along with
other chitchat. The author ,avc
his persona! opinion of Dattlir ;
Siki, Senegalese conqueror of Ca--
Dentier. According to the writer,
Siki, instead of being a terror fro:a
the moment he entered fho ring,
•v.ns actually afraid of Carpentier

idol practically out on his fest
wanted "to do a Brodie. It was
necessary for his manager to

Few big scenes have been run up
by the larger elevens against their
“trial horse” opponents in the ea rly
games this season. This may mean
that the little colleges are herring
unprecedented strength this • fall,
but it is more probable that the
lack of runaway scores comes from
•ne of several other con litioiv .
The main reason nrob..bly is that
mny of the big colleges have been
bding their stuff more than usual,
n the past huge scores in the early
anies have given adherent, of the
irger colleges great cheer and
••earns of triumphs in the bigger
anies, only to have those dre.i vj
recked many times. In running
o the huge scores the larger
evens have unfolded too much of
'.eir general style of play.
Several of 'the large colleges ha 3
veil severely hit by injuries to
heir stars. Yale is an examr’;.
aptain Jordan and O'Hca i, star
; :arter, were out of early fracases.
Others have been trying out
• een material on a more intensive
ale than in previous years.

If Kidneys and
Bladder Bother
Take Salts to flush Kidneys and
neutralize irritating
acids.
Kidney and Madder irritations often
result from uric seid, says a noted
authority. The kidneys filter this acid"
from the blood and pass it on to the
bladder, where it may Remain to irritate
and inflame, causing 'a burning, scald
ing sensation, dr setting up an irrita
tion at the neck of the bladder, obliging
you to seek relief two Or three times
during the night. The sufferer is in
constant dread; tlie water passes some
times with a scalding sensation and is
very profuse; again, there is difficulty
in voiding it.
Bladder weakness meet folks eall it,
because they can’t control urination.
While it is extremely annoying and
sometimes very painful, this „is often
one of the most simple ailments to
overcome. Get abaut four ounces of
Jad 'Salts from your pharmacist and
take a tablespoonful in a glass of water
before breakfast; continue this for two
or three days. This will help neutralize
tjio acids in tlie urine so it no longer
ip a,- source of irritation to the bladder
and urinary organs, -which, than, act
| JAd* feaitA is .inexpensive, harmless,
alfd ’-is made frOfn the acid of grapes
and lemon juice, combined with lithia,
and is used by thousands of folks who
are subject to urinary disorders caused
by uric acid irritation. Jad .Salts is
splendid for kidneys and causes no bad
effects whatever.. “
Here you have; a plenant, effervescent
lithia water drink, which often quickly
relieves bladder irritation.

TURN HAIR DARK
WITH SAGE TEA
If Mixed witfi Sulphur It Darkens
So Naturally Nobody
Can Tell
The old-time mixture of Sage Tea
and Sulphur for darkening gray,
streaked and faded hair is grandmoth
er’s recipe, and folks arc again using it
to keep their hair a good, even color,
which is quite sensible, as we are liv
ing in an age when a youthful appear
ance is of the greatest advantage.
Nowadays, though, wc don’t have the
troublesome task of gathering the sage
and the mussy mixing at home. Atl
drug stores sell the ready-to-use prod
uct, improved by the addition of other
ingredients, called “Wyeth’s Sage and
Sulphur Compound.” It is very popu
lar because nobody canMiscover it has
been applied. Simply moisten your
comb or a soft brush with it and draw
this through your.hair, taking’one small
strand at a time ; l>y morning the'gray
hair disappears, but what delights the
ladies with Wyeth’s Sage and Sulphur
Comgbund, is that, besides beautifully
darkening thedjair after a*few applica
tions, it .produces' that soft lustre
and appearance cf abundance which is
so attractive. *
