“Money Saved Is Money Made
THAT RARETHING IS
GOOD ENTERTAINMENT
“A Connecticut Yankee in King
Arthur’s Court” answers every re
quirement of a pictur e to play in the
very hestc !a ss of house It has dis -
tinguislhed authorship; it is based
on a novel the fame of which has
spread through two hemispheres; it
has been produced with a lavish ex
penditure t.ha( permitted the filling
of all rgehttaevxK. z:R,ad9fixp inS
cf all the great spectacles in the
story with unstinted magnificence;
is played by a company of distin
guished artists whose performances
score the points of th e with de
lightful certainty. And it is, first and
last, a rapid-fire story of thrilling
adventure and appealing romance,
with the whol e s ° bound together
and interwove n with humor that the
audience’,, laughter is an accompani
ment to every scene. “A Connecticut
Yankee” is that rare thing which is
best expressed in the one word enter
tainment. And it is entertainment
on e hundred per cent, pure and unal
loyed.
Will b e shown at the Bijou theatre
today and tomorrow.
VAUDEVILLE OPENS
AT THE GRAND TODAY
The much liearlded vaudevile open-,
at the Grand Theatre at this after
noon’s matine e with four special acts
and a closing after-piece of a minia
tore musical comedy with a collec
tion of pretty girls
Davis and LaComb, tw o dainty lit
tle misses, who have been claimed
as being jn a class by themselves
will present a pretty dancing act
which includes all th e ‘ latest steps ’
from the Kast. Walter Smith, billed
as the double of Harold L.loyd and !
who lias a voice like A1 Johnson, will
hold the second place on the bill, and
advance notices s tat e -that he takes
the audience by storm wherever he
appears, and such is expected here
in Brunswick. Myers-Davis, a young
man and a cute young girl hold the
position to supply the dainty young
song hits and do some very clever
danc e steps, and puts over a snappy
act. Then comes the two big ones,
Myers and Smith, those two knock
out comedians, that has' played all
the "big time” and are always the
headliners of the bill, and big do
ings are expected of them. For the
final o t'the show a signature musical
comedy has been added Hth a chorus
of pretty girls who can really dance
and sing to great advantage, never
before lias been a. snappier chorus
presented on th e stage, says several
critics, than those presented on the
Imperial <tage, wfrites the Miami
Times. So the theatregoers of;

The recently announced agree
ment of the ‘‘Big Three” colleges
—Yale, Harvard and Princeton—to
refrain from post season jaunts ant
intersectional trips does not mean
that- these three famous college,
are going to sever all relations
with western opponents in the com
ing seasons. It simply .eans that
any western teams which accept
games with the members of the
triumvirate will have to agree to
meet them on their own eastern
fields.
This isn’t a vital blow to the
gamer.. The west, ail sports con
sidered, has seemed to Accept it as
the proper procedure to invade the
cast rather than to court or wait
for an invasion of the west by the
Atlantic seaboard teams. The “Big
Ten” games, the intersectional
games between the middle and the
far west elevens and the appear
ance of other formidable eastern
teams in the west on rare occa
sions will give that territory plen
ty of thrills.

there is no one to deny that after
