The repugnance to jury duty is rapidly passing, we believe. h
Boston the other day a jury in a liquor ease wr.a given one quart oi
ry? and one quart of gin, and after deliberating over the evidence in
the jury room, returned a verdict of “not guilty." The evidence pre
sented by the defendant was sufficiently strong to clear him.

One New York candidate is accused of being ft "flopper." The
worst will not come until they call him a “flapper."
* * * *
But this will not be an old-fashioned winter so far as prices are
concerned.
# * • * • •
Some juries ge t very sleepy. For instance, is one referred
to by a New York paper whe.l it said: “He spent \he terrible three
hour interval while the lury was <xib taking a nap in his cell.**

The language of love is Inexplicable. In her letters, the choU
singer referred to her portly and bald-headed pastor as “my cute baby
kins.” In his reply, he said: “Oown me king of the gypsies,” They
say that love is blind. It must also be cuckoo.

Scientist says a shark is harmless if you keep hhn entertained.
About the only way you can entertain a shark is to let him bite a few
ot your legs off.

Met the rea! old-fashioned fellow the other evening. It looked
like rain so he had discarded the straw hat with the trolley attached
and was sporting the heavy, white eatin-lined derby while carrying
an umbrella. He wore that old-fashioned eimbination, the black coat
and vest accompanied by the Ariped trousers, winged celluloid collar
and little made-up bow tie attached to the collar button. On taking oft
his coat he. as usual, forgot to take that little wire arrangement from
beneath Ws coat collar, and that article released from its duty of
keeping the collar shaped flew across the'room and imbedded itself in
the wall. In the excitement the little, black, laundry collar button
fell from its position as stud in his shirt front, and the toothpick drop
ped from behind his ear. He said he wore woolen underwear all sum
mer, he had heard of B. V. D.’s once, but thought it was a radio sta
tion in Newark. He has never Ehaved himself and has his own cup,
with the gilded monogram on, in the barber shop. His faith in old
home remedies is wonderful, and he still wears his right sock around
his neck to relieve a sore throat. He’s old-fashioned enough to keep
bis money in a savings bank AND HE STILL HAS IT.

IF SKIN BREAKS
OUT AND ITCHES
APPLY SULPHUR
Just the moment you apply Mentho-
Sulphur to an' itching, burning or
broken out skin, the itching stops and
healing begins, says a noted skin spe
cialist. This sulphur preparation, made
into a pleasant cold cream, gives such
a quick relief, even to fiery eczema,
that nothing has ever been found to
take its place.
Because of its germ-destroying prop
erties, it quickly subdues the itching,
cools the irritation and heals the eczema
right up, leaving a clear, smooth skin
in place of ugly eruptions, rash, pin>
pies or roughness.
You do not have to wait for improve
ment. It quickly shows. You can get
a little iar of Rowles Mcntho-Sulphur
at any drug store.
