Tho closing day of Mrs. S. R. Dull’s
cooking school was one of the most
interesting of the week.
Different salads, and various sand
wiches, and covnmealj souffle, were
! made and as before were good to look
! at, as well a being delicious to the
taste.
The week’s instruction has been of
great good to those taking advantage
of this’expert advice, and they feel
repaid for the small cost to them
selves. The Woman's club should be
highly commended for this progres-

Shanghai, Nov. 26.—Sixty Chinese
passengers, arriving here from Hor;g
Kong on the British steamer Ying
Chow were arrested by the Chinese
and French police. It is reported that
the help's owners learned that a Plot
was afoot for pirates to seize the ship
on the southward sailing in Decem
ber. It is said the scheme was engi
neered by pirates who recently seized
. a British steamer off Macao.

In the course of a few brief

tal lias been under operation as a j
city department, many remarkable
changes and improvement have been
[made in that splendid Brunswick in
stitution which now serves to make
in one of the most approver hospi
tals in the state.
To start with, anew sterlizing ma-
chine,; a modern and up to date 31-
ray machine are among the improve
ments recently added. The interior
of the buiiding has also been im
proved and remodeled by which new
and commodiou g rooms for the nurses
have been provided while additional
rooms for the patients have been add
ed.
However, the growing feature of
the improvements—the one which
has been needed so badly and for
which many good Brunswick woman
have labored so hard is now taking
place—the installation of a handsome
electric elevator.-
The new machine arrived a few
days ago and just as soon as fhe

placed in Position. The new elevato*
is a very handsome machine of tfe
Merner type and will prov e to h 9 a
real acquisition to th e operation and
to th e convenience of the hospital
which i s so close to the Brunswick
heart.
The People of Brunswick hav® a

TWINS 80 YEARS

celebrated their eightieth birthday
'ast week. Each one went into the
cornfield to husk corn.
Tho “Parrish boys,” as they are
known, arc Civil War veterans, and
are enjoying good health. They re
side near each other and their re
semblance is such that many people
are unable to tell them apart.
HALL-MILLS GRAND JURY
